Liam de Melo, known previously as Literal Colby (with a new artist name to be announced), is a Canadian recording artist recognized for his experimental pop sound and distinct Y2K-inspired aesthetic. His musical journey began at age 13, singing over free YouTube beats and developing his unique voice in the online music scene.
Liam’s breakthrough came with fellow artist Danniela (Cashiconic) through their viral hit “Pop Rocks (in My Pussy)”, which gained traction on TikTok and was later featured on his debut project, Super Psycho MySpace Muzic—a nostalgic homage to early MySpace-era music and chaotic pop internet culture.
Throughout his teenage years, Liam continued to release collaborative projects with artists such as SKY3K, Danniela, and Thomas Bregoli, building a global online following. Many of these early tracks were self-mixed on BandLab—a DIY approach that drew criticism but also highlighted his hands-on creativity. Now, Liam is leveling up his production, investing in higher-quality mixing and professional studio work to take his sound to new heights.
In early 2024, Liam made a commitment to fully pursue his music career, working long hours at a local grocery store to fund his passion. This upcoming era marks a major evolution, featuring unreleased music with heavy club beats, dark synths, and bold influences from icons like Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, Kesha, and Adore Delano.
A full rebrand is underway—including a new name, elevated production quality, and a strategic rollout. Liam is excited to unveil this next chapter and hopes listeners old and new will join him on the ride.
