I prepare and preside over non-denominational ceremonies, interfaith, traditional services or secular services for weddings, commitment services, vow renewals, anniversaries, baptisms, welcoming ceremony and other life occasions including funerals, memorials, stillborn losses, divorce, annulments and commemorative events. I've a BA in religious studies (SDSU). I've earned a Master's degree from Washington Theological Union. I minored in Judaic Studies (SDSU) and have taken courses at Spertus College of Judaica, Chicago, IL.

FIRST AND FOREMOST... CONGRATULATIONS on your upcoming nuptials!
Are you in need of a professionally trained and experienced officiant? It's not an easy task so think hard on that question, PLEASE. Letting Uncle Joe or Dad do it isn't always a good thing either. Use an experienced, tested and proven individual. It may not be me - although I hope it is. But ensure that you connect with someone you're comfortable with and build a relationship with them.
All clients till be offered a FREE PERSONAL CONSULTATION with me from the get-go. This is conducted in my local area of San Jose. If need-be we can do the consultation on FaceTime, Hangout or Skype. (What's critical is the visual connect). You will also be sent a questionnaire to complete that helps me understand who, what, where, how, why. Filling this out in advance will saved us 30-40 minutes.
I plan on meeting for approximately one-hour with you and if we go longer, so be it. It's still a free consultation. I want to ensure that you have all of your questions and concerns addressed. Additional consultation can be arranged on a fee basis. However, once you become a client with me then there is absolutely no charge to you.
Durning the planning process we will exchange emails, text messages and phone calls to ensure we're all on task and that your day will be absolutely unique and filled with wonderment.
All wedding ceremonies booked with me will include my participation at the rehearsal based solely on availability on my calendar. Dates fly-by very fast so getting these things on calendar ASAP is critical.
I will arrive at your event minimally 15 minutes in advance; usually I'm there with a good 30-45 minutes to spare (depending on traffic). You should have the wedding license, and witness(es) available to me when I arrive for last minute instructions, etc. The law in California requires that before the ceremony even starts that I see and inspect the license/certificate.
Parents, advisors, whomever you choose are very welcome to attend the consultation. However, this is your wedding. I will only take requests to alter the ceremony from the bride and groom.
With over 40+ years as a public speaker I don't think there's much that I haven't stumbled across. I will assist you as best I can throughout the ceremonial event. Once you've been pronounced as married and have walked back down the aisle I will exit to a determined place where your witness(es) and I will sign the license. Unless you have asked me to join you at your reception I will then take my leave.
Born and raised in Chicago, IL, I've alway said "You can take the boy out of Chicago, but you'll never take Chicago out of the boy!" What a great place to grow up. Great food, even greater people, too. I have one brother who lives there today. He likes to sweat in the summer and freeze in the winter. Not me.
I have been fortunate to work all over the United States and I've found wonderful people and experiences throughout Americana. Today, I serve in many capacities today: Minister, pastoral counselor, celebrant... I also work in the fields of corporate education, notary commissions, and property management, just to name some of things that I do.
But, let me cut to the chase. What floats my boat is being of service to others. I get goosebumps when a student catches a concept, a tenant finds a place to live... And, of course, the glow of the Bride and Groom on their wedding day.
