After returning home, I had to renter society at 40 years old, but with grit, belief and an understanding of self I climbed my way up to become a Human Resource Specialists for a Fortune 500 company with 6 months.

I’m a 42-year-old proud father of three sons and a grandfather to one amazing grandson. After serving 16 years in federal prison for a non-violent drug offense, I returned home determined to rebuild my life. My journey began with a $9.40/hour job, but through hard work and perseverance, I quickly rose to become a Human Resources Specialist at Target Sortation Warehouse within just five months.
Seven months after my release, I made a lateral career move to CareerLink, serving as a Reentry Workforce Connector, helping others transition back into the workforce. Today, I am honored to serve as the Director of Programs and Community Outreach for the 8th Councilmanic District under Councilwoman Cindy Bass. I’m dedicated to improving lives and creating opportunities in my community.
