Overview

I'm a versatile speaker and facilitator offering keynotes, workshops, panel moderation, and specialized training on AI and leadership. As a certified John Maxwell Leadership speaker, I combine proven frameworks with real-world business experience.
I'm an electrical engineer with an MBA, working inside a Fortune 400 company. I grew up in a small town in East Texas and studied at Texas A&M University, and that foundation shaped my belief that growth is for everyone.
Whether leading a workshop, moderating a panel, or unpacking how AI is reshaping the workplace, my goal is the same: serve individuals and teams as they grow and add real value to their organizations and themselves.

What to expect

Audiences and clients who bring me in can expect a blend of practical business insight, proven leadership frameworks, and genuine energy. As a certified John Maxwell speaker, coach, and trainer, I deliver content that's grounded in real leadership principles, not just theory. My background as an electrical engineer with an MBA, working inside a Fortune 400 company, means I speak the language of the corporate world and understand the day-to-day realities my audience is navigating.
Whether I'm delivering a keynote, leading a hands-on workshop, moderating a panel, or training a team on how AI is reshaping the workplace, I focus on making the experience both engaging and actionable. Audiences leave with clear, practical tools they can apply immediately, not just inspiration that fades by the next morning.
I bring a unique perspective shaped by growing up in a small town in East Texas and building a career that spans engineering, business, and leadership development. That combination allows me to connect authentically with a wide range of audiences, from executive teams to community groups, and to make complex topics like AI and leadership feel accessible and relevant.
For event planners, that means a speaker who shows up prepared, adapts to the room, and delivers consistent value whether the format is a 20-minute keynote or a full-day workshop. My goal is always the same: help people grow, add real value to their organizations, and walk away with something they can put into practice right away.

About

Barry Garrison is a leadership speaker, coach, and trainer whose career bridges the worlds of corporate engineering and personal development. Raised in a small town in East Texas, Barry's roots run deep in a family story shaped by resilience and the transformative power of education, a legacy that continues to inform his mission to help others grow, regardless of where they start.
Barry earned his degree from Texas A&M University and built a career as an electrical engineer, later adding an MBA from Texas Christian University (TCU) to his credentials. Today, he works within a Fortune 400 company, bringing a rare combination of technical expertise and business acumen to his corporate role. This experience also informs his work as a speaker and trainer, giving him firsthand insight into the pressures and opportunities facing today's organizations.
As a certified John Maxwell speaker, coach, and trainer, Barry is dedicated to developing transformational leaders. He co-founded Transformational Leadership LLC alongside his wife, LaKen, combining proven leadership frameworks with real-world business experience to help individuals and organizations unlock their full potential. His work spans keynote speaking, corporate workshops, panel moderation, and specialized training on artificial intelligence and its impact on leadership and the workplace.
Beyond his corporate and speaking work, Barry is the founder of JEBTG Real Estate LLC, where he manages investment properties across the Longview and DFW areas, an entrepreneurial venture that reflects his belief in building sustainable systems for long-term growth. He also serves as a men's ministry leader at One Community Church in Plano, Texas, extending his passion for leadership development into his faith community.
Barry's approach to leadership is grounded in a growth mindset, disciplined execution, and a genuine passion for adding value to others. Whether he's leading a workshop, moderating a panel, mentoring men in his ministry, or delivering a keynote on AI's role in the future of work, his goal remains the same: to equip people to lead with purpose and achieve meaningful transformation in their careers, their communities, and their lives.

Additional booking notes

I come fully equipped and flexible, making setup easy for any venue. I bring my own projector, screen, and computer, so no additional AV equipment is required on your end.
If the venue already has equipment in place, I'm happy to use it instead, as long as there's an HDMI connection available to connect my computer.
Beyond that, my needs are minimal: a stable table or cart for the projector (if using mine), a screen or blank wall for projection, and standard room lighting that can be dimmed if needed for visibility. No special staging or sound requirements beyond what the venue typically provides for a speaker or presenter.

Influences and inspiration

My approach to leadership, speaking, and personal growth has been shaped by several key mentors and thought leaders. Dr. Conway Edwards has been a significant influence on my development, offering guidance and wisdom that has helped shape my perspective on leadership and growth.
Mike Hayes, a former pastor whom I served as an armor bearer for eight years, has also played a defining role in my journey. That season of close, hands-on service taught me lessons about servant leadership, loyalty, and discipline that I still carry into my work today.
Above all, John Maxwell's leadership principles have had a profound impact on my philosophy and practice. As a certified John Maxwell speaker, coach, and trainer, I draw daily on his teachings around growth, influence, and adding value to others, principles that form the foundation of everything I do as a speaker and leader.
