May 27, 2019Incomparable, incredible,and highly entertaining!
Having Lain Gray perform, with all of his offerings of style mastery, strumming, crooning, and being a presence of melodious wonder, was for us and would be for anyone who books him...the highlight of the event. I am already thinking of a way to book him again, and our guests have not stopped thanking us for exposure to such talent. Even the opening musicians stayed to enjoy the show!

Thanks for your kind words Allie. It was a beautiful day for the happy couple. The father daughter dance made me think of my 8 year old. The interaction during the dance showed how close they are, later confirmed by the story board photos of the two of them from the day she was born to present day. I pray to have such a great relationship with my daughter through the years. Thanks for allowing me to share some of your special day.
Blessed

What to expect
Corporate:
Lain has started booking corporate dates, after he recently added his newly developed "Black Tie Brit" set, where he has put together songs from the cream of the crop of big band and jazz standards, giving him the chance to pay homage to many of his heroes of that era; Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis Junior, to name a few.
Guitar/Vocalist:
Lain has a varied style of songs in his guitar vocalist set, covering many genres, including 80s 90s and modern pop, Soul, Reggae, RnB, as well as some standards, all presented through his voice and guitar.
It may sound simple, but the reaction of those listening is always the same, they love what they hear.
About
Lain joined premier gospel outfit Nu Colours. Shortly after, the group enjoyed great success through the release of their debut album “Unlimited” which had such underground hits including “Tears”, “Greater Love” and “What in the World”. Then came their second self-titled album with the single “Desire”, “Special Kind of Lover” and “Yes I Will”. After the split of the group, Lain began writing with early Soul II Soul producer Simon Law, where he learned the craft of song. It was at this point – while doing background vocals with some of his former group members for the likes of Mary J Blige, Andrea Bocelli and Tina Turner – Lain met Jazzie B, who at the time was working on the Soul II Soul Volume 7 album, “Time for Change”. Jazzie instantly recognised Lain’s musical ability and gave him the opportunity to write and feature on the album. It was through this album that Lain was introduced to Jason Chue a.k.a Wookie. Rumour would have it that the two ‘might work well together’. Wookie’s self titled album was released, with five tracks co-written and featuring Lain, including the top ten single “Battle” and “Back Up”. Lain has also collaborated and featured on the intricate broken beat N.S.M album, headed up by the mad professor IG culture, as well as artists including electronica- dance producer Dobie.
After training at The Weist Barron Acting School in New York, Lain has added another string to his bow entering into the acting fraternity. An ambition finally realised that shows yet another side of his talents.
Lain made his musical theatre debut, in the original cast of ‘The Harder They Come’ playing Inspector Ray Pierre. He then went on to spend two years in the hit show ‘We Will Rock You’ playing ‘Prince/ Madonna’, first cover ‘Britney’ in his first year. In his second year he won the role of ‘Britney’, as well as playing ‘TJ’ in the workshop for ‘Sister Act’ the musical.
In late 2008 Lain and his wife Anita left the comfort and familiarity of their home, families and jobs in London, and moved to New York for an exciting new challenge. Since then Lain has been reunited with his original theatre family, for the Canada/US tour of The Harder They Come, playing Pedro. His last two theatre projects were with the Mind The Gap theatre company New York, playing Prime Minister Andrew Miles in the short play Unmanned, as part of their summer Brit Bits series. He also played Judah in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the Sacramento Music Circus. His voice was also used in the World of Warcraft Cataclysm video game.
Upon leaving New York for Houston, the Gray family doubled with the additions of Laylah and Judah.
While Lain has been focused on projects away from the entertainment business, his heart has always been with performing music and the craft of song. He is now on a path to re-ignite his passion, starting with live performances locally. His music is inspiring, truthful and from the heart. It must be heard to be believed.
Additional booking notes
Lain has his own speakers with a small mixer included. One Sennheiser microphone. A Gibson 335 or an acoustic Martin guitar.
