Classically trained, Lady Mercedes began shaping her vocal artistry in the University of Oregon’s gospel choir as a teen, singing for eight years and laying the foundation for a career that bridges genres and generations.
She’s graced both studio and stage, lending background vocals to Macklemore, Josephine Howell, Wynonna Judd, Rev. Sekou, Liv Warfield, Talaya., Danny Godinez, Armetria Dock, Saeed Renaud, Aaron Wiggins, and gospel greats Crystal Aiken, Jason Nelson, Kelontae Gavin, Lillian Lloyd, Vincent Bohanan, and Beverly Crawford. Her performances have reached audiences at Tabor 100, Kent Farmer’s Market, Umoja Fest, and Festival Sundiata, and have even earned recognition from the Mayor of Tacoma.
In addition to her music, Lady Mercedes consults with at-risk and creative teens, offering mentorship and guidance to help them find their voice and path forward.
Her 2025 achievements—Empty The Clip – Chapter 1: Actions (June 27), Chapter 2: Heal (Aug 29), the upcoming Chapter 3: Peace, three music videos, Season 2 of her Collisions podcast on YouTube, the December deluxe edition of Empty The Clip, and Yuletide Love Vol. 2—were all born from rebuilding her life from the ground up after losing everything the week of Christmas 2024. Every step came through her blood, sweat, and tears, the support of her community, and the help of God.
