Dueling Pianos & Billy Joel/ Elton John tribute by John Arden Music
- Island Park, NY
- Dueling Pianos
- $500 and up
Leave your preconceived notions at the door and prepare for something a little different. I’m in the business of making memories and have been performing as a professional entertainer since 1969. Over fifty years in the business, including four years on cruise ships and twelve years on the road, have taught me to read crowds and instantly customize my set to your event. I specialize in the music of the 60s, 70s, and 80s, novelty songs, TV themes, and the like. But I cut my teeth in Classical and I haven't been living under a rock. So from Chopin to show tunes, I can help make your party or event unforgettable. Get in touch with me today and get ready to have some fun.

April 14, 2023L.A. has been entertaining the residents at our Assisted Living Facility for several months. Larry is an excellent pianist and has broad range of music that he plays and sings. Lots of nostalgic number, lots of funny ones too. Our residents adore him and it's always a treat when he is here. One of the things we appreciate most about Larry is how he interacts with our residents. He gets to know them by name, and that makes them feel very special. We highly recommend him!

There is no single list of songs you will hear at my events. I have been accused of many things in the 55 years I have been playing professionally. Most flattering is that I can play songs for just about any occasion. I don't know your ethnic songs (but I can read a music book!) and I don't know much that's very recent, but I have selections from the ragtime hits of the 1890s thru, well, "Don't Stop Believing" by Journey, because you might want to hear that one, too.
What do I LOVE to play? I'm most at home in the 60s and 70s music, but I LOVE to play what YOU WANT TO HEAR!
Born into a family of singers and sing-alongers, I grew up listening to, singing along with, and picking out piano tunes with Mitch Miller, the Buffalo Bills, and "Tennessee" Ernie Ford. But when the British invasion began, I was just old enough to ride the mania. Herman's Hermits and the Beatles took me into pop music, and Billy Joel and Elton John got me through my days in the Army. Moved to Nashville.
Big rock (and hair) days behind me now, I have found lighter music like Chicago, Eagles, Carole King, and James Taylor to be extremely rewarding. This must have happened while I was working on cruise ships (Show tunes!!) for four years with Off Center (trio), and entertaining on the road with One More Time (duo) for twelve years.
Oh - did I mention my six years of classical lessons? I guess there's some of that in there, too. That means I can read requests right out of my books (remember those?) if I don't know something. But I don't usually use sheet music.
I will play your piano if it's in good shape, or bring my own.
I have two sound systems. If I bring my own piano, I will bring the appropriately-sized system. This would require one normal outlet.
However, I also have an optional lighting setup, which would change size and amperage requirements.
