Steve Szydel grew up in Fairchild, WI. A small community just 30 miles East of Eau Claire. He was the 6th child out of nine. He listened to great singer song writers, Johnny Cash, Kris Kristopherson, Marty Robbins, Hank Williams, Jim Reeves, and several Queens of Country Music. Steve wore out many of his older brother's record albums. So it's no wonder when Steve bought his first guitar at age fourteen, an old 6 string from his brothers friend, he gravitated toward the music of his youth. Steve started song writing early in his youth, and continued after he joined the Navy in 1972. Steve had a handful of songs that he wrote, and performed at open mics near the Naval Bases where he was stationed. He was working at Glen Acres Golf & Country Club, Seattle, Wa. in 1984 there he met his future Wife Doris Paganucci. Steve performed at the club on several occasions. He started dating Doris and they hit it off great. Doris grew up in Kent, WA. and enjoyed music, singing, and had an interest in playing the guitar. Steve taught her some of the basic chords and she progressed quickly. They dated for a couple of years and were married in 1986. They moved back to Wisconsin in 1991, and finally settled in Altoona, They have four children, three boys and a girl. Steve's Wife Doris sings harmony, and a some solos, she also assists with the setup and sound checks thus keeping it all in the family.
