We are Middle Eastern Percussion and Melody harmonized.
King Fez is a six-piece band coalescing the tradition of Middle Eastern drumming with Western tuning. The instrumentation, Oud, violin and guitar are electrified as the band travels through original composition.
A favorite of the local bellydance scene, the band has performed various performance venues throughout the Pittsburgh Metro.
All are veterans of musical groups across a diverse range of styles, from traditional Arab and Turkish to rock, folk, world music, classical and punk. Formed in 2013, members are Gina Ketter, electric violin; Frank Knezevitch, guitar; Hugh Watkins, bass; Mark DeFilippo, drums; Beth DeFilippo, riq; and David Hart, electric oud.
King Fez performs public and private events including parties, weddings, and festivals. Prior arrangements can include dancers in its performances.
