KENDRA HAMBLIN is a sought-after flutist and teacher in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metropolitan Area. She has performed as a soloist with the Emerald Singers, the Salt Lake City Men’s Chorus, and the Utah Valley Symphony Orchestra, and most recently was the featured flute soloist in Silas Farley’s untitled ballet drawing on works of Poulenc. She has been honored as prizewinner competitions such as the UMTA Young Artist Competition, UFA Sonata Competition, and UVU Concerto Competition, among others, and has been invited to perform both domestically and overseas.
Ms. Hamblin is a champion of new music and often performs works written for different members of the flute family, Alto Flute being a favorite choice. She has had the pleasure of collaborating with and premiering works by up-and-coming composers, and maintains an active commercial and recording presence. Her music has reached the ears of millions of listeners worldwide via live international television and radio broadcasts.
Kendra is a seasoned orchestral musician and has performed regularly as principal flutist of the Meadows Symphony Orchestra, Garland Musicals Orchestra, and Utah Valley Wind Symphony, with plenty of substitute playing peppered in. She has extensive history performing operas and Broadway-style musicals in addition to the standard orchestral and wind ensemble literature.
As a teacher, Ms. Hamblin focuses on building an uplifting environment where students can excel with excitement. Her students are confident performers in any setting, whether that’s All-State auditions, solo recitals, youth orchestras, or chamber performances, and are known for their artistry, beautiful tone, and clean technique.
