I am a solo violinist, available to perform before and during your wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, or reception. I can also play for other kinds of special events, including parties, showers, etc.

When you and I work together, I take great care to learn about your relationship to music, and the genres, songs, and pieces that are special to you. It's very important to me that the music I play for you be reflective of your preferences and/or vision for your event. And, once I know what music direction we are going in, I spend a great deal of time preparing and practicing so that when I arrive to your event, I am ready to perform to my greatest ability.

I am also a highly detail-oriented person, and am careful to check-in with you at multiple points throughout the planning process to ensure that I have all the correct details and information for your event, so there are no surprises or hiccups on the day! You can rest easy in the knowledge that I will provide a professional and enthusiastic performance, one that adds to the beauty of your special day.

My name is Kathryn Howard, and I am a solo violinist for weddings and special events in Oregon's Willamette Valley. From personal experience, I know how much live instrumental music can elevate an event. I'm delighted to bring the gift of music to you, performing music that amplifies the beauty of the moment and creates lasting memories.

I first started playing violin when I was seven years old, and played consistently throughout all my school years, including college, where I sat as concertmaster (first chair) of my university's orchestra. Although I did not pursue music as my main career, the love of music and playing violin never fully left me. Over the years, I've had the opportunity to play my violin for special events (mostly weddings) of family and friends. I am currently a violinist in the Corvallis-OSU Symphony, performing orchestral music with students, community members, and professional musicians from across the Willamette Valley. Recently, I have expanded my reach and am offering my music services to those in my community and region!

I am based in the Corvallis/Albany/Philomath area, but am available to travel the majority of the Willamette Valley for events, including the Portland metro area. With over twenty years of progressively advanced violin experience, I am comfortable playing many styles of music, including classical music, classic and contemporary pop, classic rock, folk, musicals, and music from film and television soundtracks. I'm also able to learn custom songs upon request.

I provide my own instrument and music stand. Please note that I am a solo violinist - my music does not have backing tracks or other musical accompaniment.

The sound of a violin carries well, but for large indoor or outdoor events (events more than 100 people), I would recommend that a microphone with stand be provided. This will better allow your guests to hear me.
