Karyn Ann - Neo-soul troubadour

My services/performance are versatile and designed to cater to the clients specific needs/wants. For instance, in a house concert setting, I engage my audience through a mix of storytelling, humor and song. Whereas in a corporate setting, like a Holiday Party, my goals are more geared towards keeping the ambiance in line with the overall theme.

For wedding gigs that require prep (i.e. learning songs requested by bridge and groom), I work hard to meet my clients needs within reasonable limits, and love adding to a couples special day.

I also love performing with and for children and have a large repertoire of "kids" songs, plus all my original material is kid friendly. I also have experience working with children from past experiences as nanny. Performing with kids undoubtedly requires me to get them involved, but either dancing with them, having them help write the song, or giving them an instrument to actively participate.

Regardless of the setting, if hired, I guarantee a professional attitude, clear communication and an enjoyable experience for all.

With a voice known to "beguile the most inattentive bar-goer," Karyn Ann has gained notoriety as a skilled singer and songwriter, drawing comparisons to 60's troubadours like Bonnie Raitt and Carole King and modern artists like Adele and Brandi Carlile.

Her song 'The Ender' has appeared in a feature full-length film, and her latest release Be Still premiered on Vortex Music Magazine, and is soulful ballad reminding us "all to take a minute to find a moment of peace."

She performs across the expansive Portland music scene and tours nationally, with notable performances at the legendary Bitter End in NYC, Reno Sculpture Fest, and the Women's Redrock Music Festival.

I don't have a long list of requirements for my performances. I have my own PA system that's suited for crowds up to 500 people, which can cover most events. I believe the details for every event are different, and the client and I would discuss these prior to or leading up the event.
