Karen has been singing professionally for over 10 years at weddings, receptions and festivals as well. She is also an Independent Artist and has original material. About
Currently residing in Atlanta, Georgia, this New York Native has a great love for music and an appreciation for different genres. She grew up listening to R&B, Jazz, Country, Soft Rock and Gospel.
Like many artists, Karen began singing in church and sang in the school chorus. After graduating high school, she joined the military and began singing band. It took some nudging and a lot of years of performing to convince her that singing was her destiny. Her musical journey has afforded her opportunities to perform at political events, colleges and an appearance at the Apollo Theatre.
Karen has performed at events in tribute to Dr. Joseph E. Lowry and the Honorable Andrew J. Young. She has performed with many nationally and internationally known Jazz artists such as pianist Bobby Lyle, saxophonist Marion Meadows. Karen has also had the pleasure of performing with the American Jazz Fusion band, The Yellowjackets and was the opening act for guitarist Eric Essex at the Caribbean Sea Jazz Festival in Aruba.
This singer/songwriter has released a solo project appropriately titled "Now It's Time" as well as several singles.
Investing in her career, Karen purchased her own equipment. Now, not only can she provide a live experience with a band of various sizes, she can also perform as a solo act using music tracks. This gives her the ability reach clients with various needs and budgets.
Additional booking notes
When performing as a solo act, I have a personal, portable PA System including two speakers w/stands and microphones. I have many music tracks and will add to my repertoire when songs are requested that I don’t currently have…if the music is available.

I love music! I am inspired by the message in the song more than any particular genre. I enjoy Stevie Nicks, Melissa Etheridge and Barbara Streisand just as well as Gladys Knight, Nancy Wilson and Etta James. I also enjoy some newer artists such as Adele, H.E.R, and Snoh Aalegra. I also sing songs led by male artists too…Luther Vandross, Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran, Marvin Gaye. Again, it’s the message. Words are my love language!
