Justin Highland, Pianist

Justin Highland is from Denver, Colorado and has been playing piano since age 7. He graduated with a BA in Jazz and Classical Piano Studies from MSU Denver in 2012. He has over 25 years playing and 15 years of seasoned playing and teaching experience with all styles including Classical, Jazz, Rock, Pop, Blues, Gospel, Latin/Brazilian and Contemporary piano styles. Blessed with perfect pitch, he specializes in arranging any song for the piano by ear and arranging pop songs in a Jazz style.

Justin mentored with Classical pianists Tamara Goldstein and Peter Friesen, along with critically acclaimed Jazz piano greats Art Lande, Eric Gunnison, Peter Stoltzman. Peter Martin and Dennis Hamm from the Grammy-winning band Thundercat. Justin’s originally composed jazz EP received worldwide radio airplay on Denver’s own 89.3 FM KUVO radio station (Listen to his EP here: (link hidden))

Having spent time in both the Denver and Los Angeles music scenes being involved in multiple bands and recording projects, Justin is a versatile and adaptable keyboardist, composer and educator who loves teaching students of all ages and levels. Outside of music he enjoys Golf, Chess, hiking and traveling.

I do require at least 2 month's notice if the gig is going to be longer than 1 hour so that I can prepare accordingly.

I will come with a stage piano, amplifier and cables. I will need a power/electrical source close by. Having your own PA System is a plus.
