Jump Up Pup

A jazzy, mostly instrumental trio of flute/other wind instruments, hand drums/percussion, and guitar that holds down the bassy bottom and adds the rhythmic highs. We can dress up or down depending on your needs and preferences. For covers, we do jazz versions of songs from the Beatles to the Cure, to swinging jazzy versions of classics like Route 66. About 2/3rds of our songs are original instrumentals, with smooth, R&B, funk, and jazz influences.

I started writing songs at the age of 14 in a small town in the Midwest. After college, I moved to Honolulu, where I played in a 10-piece blues band, and a new wave band. My biggest audience was 8.586 people in Aloha Stadium, but my most fun was playing my original songs with about 8 friends in a large outdoor amphitheater, for several hundred university students. I did some stand-up comedy in San Francisco before getting married and moving to the West Coast.
Having a trio with wind instruments and hand percussion along with my guitar is fulfilling my dream of many years. As Jump Up Pup, we play relaxing, jazzy music that is about 2/3rds original instrumentals, and 1/3 of cover songs. We're very flexible, easy to get along with, and will make your event sparkle.

Simple needs and self-sufficient for most venues. We would need a PA for large venues.
