Overview
I'm a drummer from Orange County, California. I have spent the majority of my career serving my home church, where I continue to work at.
Outside of church work, I've worked with several different bands and artists, including Devious Droogs, Not Yet Attained, Donny Walker, Shelley Kemp & Called to Hope, The Convicted, etc. I have also provided services to other churches outside of my own.
I am currently in a Christian Rock band called White Noise Revival.
My experience serving in church has especially allowed me to receive mentorship and training on understanding venue, dynamics, and how to serve the music.

Josh is punctual, communicative, easy going, friendly, and a team player. He plays drums in the pocket, drives the train nice and steady, and adds flair when appropriate. You'll be glad to have him play in your band.

What to expect
You can expect to work with a drummer who is a team player. Someone who is a musician first, a "showboat" second. At the risk of sounding redundant, you can expect a seasoned drummer who is long-trained to be sensitive to venue and to the vibe of the occurring event, as well as to the types of music being played and the musicians he'll be working with.
You can expect a kindhearted, compassionate servant with a professional attitude. Someone who is open to suggestions and is willing to listen to others' ideas.
You can expect a drummer who is passionate about his craft, and absolutely loves the feelings that come with sitting behind his drumkit, picking up his sticks and laying down a groove that will inspire others to dance, clap, shout, jump, etc.
You can expect a drummer who is a follower of Jesus Christ before anything or anyone else. Someone who is reverent and sensitive to the Spirit of God and longs to bring Him glory through his musicianship.
About
I currently have 19 years' worth of experience playing drums in live settings, including some studio time, of which I am looking to gain more.
SIDE NOTE: to specify -- by "drummer," I mean "drum set player," although I can also play the cajon.
In technical terms, I am mostly a self-taught musician. However, I have taken a few percussion classes in college, and I'm currently taking lessons online thru Adam Zalewski's Complete Worship Drummer program.
In other aspects, I've received MUCH coaching and mentoring throughout my career. The vast majority of that mentorship came from my ongoing time of playing in church.
Thanks to my extensive church experience, I understand very well how to play to the venue and how to serve the music.

Influences and inspiration
I would say that my biggest drumming influences are Marvin McQuitty (R.I.P.) and Travis Barker.
However, there are plenty others who have inspired me as well:
-Neil Peart (R.I.P.)
-Chad Smith
-Jon Wysocki (R.I.P.)
-John Otto
-Chad Sexton
-Dan Needham
-Tony Royster Jr.
-Nate Smith
-Steve Jordan
-Dennis Chambers

Setup requirements
I have my own drums, cymbals, hardware, and most obviously -- my own drumsticks. I do not require any equipment in this sense.
I will need at least 15 minutes or so to set my kit up before a gig or session.
I will likely require mics for my kit, depending on the situation.
