We hired Josh to put together an operatic showcase for my Great Aunt & Uncles' 50th wedding anniversary.
Weeks later and everyone is still buzzing about the show they put on. Josh & I went back and forth discussing song ideas, and he prepared a setlist that the crowd adored. He also brought in a keyboardist and soprano singer to perform alongside him. They were so flexible with our small space, timing within our event, and showed up dressed perfectly. Both singers were professional, performative, and even entertained us with one extra song request. Tears were shed multiple times and there were zero regrets in hiring Josh!

What to expect
Professional singer, comfortable performing acapella or with any variety of accompaniment: piano, organ, guitar, orchestra, jazz ensemble, or even a rock band. Also experienced singing with prerecorded tracks. With a day’s notice, I can learn any song you request in a wide variety of styles and languages. I can also suggest appropriate songs for your event if you’re not sure what you’d like. I have a versatile range with ringing high notes, and able to sing pieces intended for baritone or tenor. I would be happy to discuss your vision for the music at your event and make it a reality!
About
Josh Black is a baritone originally from Salt Lake City who has lived in California since 2007. He has sung professionally with Oakland Symphony Chorus, West Edge Opera, Volti, Chalice Consort, Lyric Opera Kansas City, Tulsa Opera, Light Opera Oklahoma, and Cimarron Circuit Opera Company. He is a co-owner and Director of Finance for Piccola Carolers, a Victorian costumed Christmas caroling company which employs over 25 singers to perform in quartets at parties, shopping centers, and tree lightings around the Bay Area each holiday season. He has also been a professional church musician for the past 20 years, and is currently the bass section leader at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Burlingame. He currently splits his time between San Francisco and San Diego.
