Jordan Schug is a cellist and freelance musician in the Detroit Area. Originally from Southeast Michigan, he studied both jazz and classical music at the University of North Texas (ranked one of the top music schools in the country and one of the first to develop a program of jazz studies) on scholarship from 2000-‐2005, graduating with a BFA in jazz studies. He then returned to Michigan and has been continuing his music career here ever since, playing professionally almost exclusively for ten years. Aside from his work as a cellist Jordan is also well known as Bassist and has played at the Detroit Jazz Festival four times in the past seven years.

Jordan has shared the stage with mnay classical, jazz and rock musicians including Richie Cole, John Clayton, Gerald Clayton, James Carter, The Hot Club of Detroit, Jon Hendricks, Cyrille Aimee, Dwight Adams, Rick Rowe, Andrew Bishop, Laith Al‐Saadi, Rob Avsharian and Scott Gwinnell and has experience playing a wide variety of events. He recently completed his graduate studies on scholarship, in 2014 receiving a Masters of Music from the University of Michigan.
