From the moment you book, the process is smooth and transparent. You’ll receive clear communication, a custom quote, and a simple performance agreement. A 50% deposit secures your date, and the balance is due the day of the event. We recommend at least 2 weeks’ notice for best availability.

On the day of your event:
Jonathan arrives on time, fully costumed (unless otherwise specified) and ready. He adapts seamlessly to your schedule and venue whether it’s a grand entrance, mingling, photo ops, or a special role like wedding officiating or emcee.

For your guests:
The fun starts the instant he appears. His movie-accurate costume earns instant double-takes. With signature swagger, humor, and spot-on mannerisms, he interacts naturally with everyone — kids, adults, and seniors — making them feel part of a real pirate adventure. Expect laughs, great photos, and memorable moments.

After the event:
Jonathan is happy to pose for final photos. He may ask for permission to use select shots taken during the event for promotional purposes.

With over 18 years of experience, Jonathan Kaplan has become one of the most authentic Jack Sparrow tribute performers in the country. His passion began in 2005 after falling in love with Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. What started as a teenage hobby quickly evolved into a dedicated craft.

Jonathan’s extraordinarily detailed, movie-accurate costume, hand-crafted with help from talented artisans in the Pirates fan community, combined with his spot-on voice and mannerisms, consistently earns double-takes from guests. His commitment has opened remarkable doors, including a feature on the Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End DVD, sharing the stage with original cast members, and meeting legendary composer Hans Zimmer.

Based in historic St. Augustine, Florida, Jonathan loves bringing the charm and swagger of Captain Jack to events across the Sunshine State. Whether it’s a high-end corporate function, beach party, elegant wedding (where he can also serve as officiant!), or casual after dark swaggers through downtown, it's a pirate's life for him, and he loves every treasured moment.

For most events, Jonathan will arrive fully dressed and ready to perform. Depending on the travel distance and venue, a private changing area or room may be requested.

Breaks & Hydration
Being a pirate is hot! Especially in full costume under Florida sun. For the comfort, safety, and best performance, he asks that clients provide:

Access to water or a hydration station at all times
A shaded, or indoor private area for short breaks
Periodic breaks (typically 5–10 minutes every 45–60 minutes for outdoor or longer events)

For large or outdoor events, an indoor or shaded private space is required for these breaks. This helps Jonathan stay energized and in top form throughout your event.
