Raised by Grammy-winning sound engineer Donivan Cowart, Jolene soaked in voices like Dolly (yes, she was named after the song), Willie, and Johnny from underneath the console. Privy to sessions with the best Nashville musicians out there, she cut her teeth young.
From originals to covers, a solo show or full band, Jolene brings the best of Americana, Country, Folk, and Indie sounds blended with her favorite inspirations like Sheryl Crow, Emmylou Harris, and Sara Bareilles.

I have been writing songs since I was 3 years old when my baby sister was born. To say songwriting is in my blood is an accurate statement.
My live shows can be as intimate as a night at the Bluebird Cafe, just me & my guitar, songs and stories.
OR a more lively upbeat show where I combine all my biggest influences and favorite artists, showcasing the songs that made me the writer I am.

Yep - named after the song - Jolene comes from a rich musical background growing up in Franklin, Tennessee. Her dad, celebrated sound engineer and songwriter Donivan Cowart, worked with Dolly back in the day.
A studio mouse from the time she was born, she soaked in the influences of Johnny, Emmylou, and Willie. She listened to Rodney Crowell and Roseanne Cash records being mixed and songs as they were being written. And it all made a lifelong lasting impression on her and taught her the power of sharing our stories through music.
And as she grew up and started collecting records by Sheryl Crow, the Chicks, and Fiona Apple, her own unique blend of roots Americana, folk, & 90s vibes became her signature sound and a storied life, her coal mine.
Recently off the road with her "Uncle" Rodney Crowell, Jolene is embarking on her own journey as an artist with all the real world experience under her belt.
