John Sheehy is a pianist and composer from New Jersey. He is a graduate of Berklee College of Music with a Bachelors Degree in Professional Music with a concentration in piano performance. While at Berklee, he studied piano under the tutelage of Joanne Brackeen, Helen Sung & Nando Michelin. When asked about his influences he says, “The music of Bill Evans, Keith Jarrett, Oscar Peterson & Brad Mehldau definitely inspires the way I approach my instrument.” John has been fortunate to play in several prominent venues including , Tomi Jazz in Manhattan, Chris’ Jazz Café in Philadelphia, The Spotted Cat in New Orleans, and Wally’s Café in Boston. In addition to an interpreter of the Great American Songbook, John is also a composer, whose original compositions have been inspired by Afro-Cuban music, and odd time signatures.
I perform tunes from the Great American Songbook as well as tunes by various jazz musicians
