Joyful music for all occasions!
John Hughes is an innovative kora (West African harp) player, percussionist and vocalist whose style ranges from elegant and stately classical West African harp music to jazzy, hypnotic grooves that cross cultural boundaries and fuse disparate cultural influences. Playing ancient traditional instruments not often heard in the United States (many of which he builds himself), John takes his audience on an intimate tour of universally musical expressions of joy and hope, at once soothing and up-lifting.

John's performance captivated our audience and transported us to another world, immersing us in the beauty of West African music. It was a memorable experience and he contributed to the atmosphere we were trying to achieve.

I can't express enough how incredibly awesome you made our party!! The sound that comes from the Kora is absolutely beautiful and you play it perfectly!! I wish I could have you here every Sunday morning to play in the background while I make my family breakfast!! Thank you so much for giving us the best musical experience we could ever imagine!!
