John Floyd is the perfect entertainer for your next meeting, awards ceremony, company party or convention. Sometimes known as "The Mouth of Mayberry" John first did stand-up comedy in a school talent show when he was only eight years old and he has been making people laugh ever since. Along the way he has worked with about every comedian from legends such as Milton Berle, Tommy Chong and Soupy Sales to current stars such as Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle and Jamie Foxx.
He has also opened for numerous music acts including Michael Bolton, Frankie Valli, Herman's Hermits, Chubby Checker and Martina McBride. Just some of the companies and organizations John has entertained include Hardee's, First Union Bank, Aetna, The United Way, IBM and Met Life. He has appeared on CBS-TV's "Central Park West" and was a semi-finalist in the HBO Aspen Comedy Festival. He was also a finalist and voted audience favorite at the 2013 Clean Comedy Challenge, as well as coming in second place in the Clean Guys Unbleepable Contest.
John is the author of the book I'm The South. Over the past 20 years he has done nearly 4,000 shows for over a million and a half people. John says the men in his family have always been funny, he's just the first one to do it on a stage instead of a front porch.
Though his accent is as thick as a bowl of grits, his act is not regional. In fact, his stand-up has taken him to all 50 states and over two dozen countries. He has been a regular entertainer for Carnival Cruise Lines where his ship received the highest comedy rating in their fleet in both 2007 and 2009. John is very funny but not at all offensive, so you can rest easy knowing that he will have your audience rolling in the aisles instead of sweating under their collars.
