Traditional Zydeco, Cajun, and Creole style band with a hard-driving rhythm section Joe Hall and the Louisiana Cane Cutters play Creole tunes from days gone by along with ever so popular Boozoo Chavis tunes and at the same time keep it real with timely and much-needed waltzes from legendary musician such as Bois Sec Ardoin, Canray Fontenot, Nathan Abshire, Amedee Ardoin, Marc Savoy, Amedee Breaux, and many others from the past. Joe Hall and the Louisiana Cane Cutters are very much known for all genres of Louisiana-style music having a reputation of always having a fiddle player in the band. Joe hall is also one of the last Creole accordion players in this day and time. His band includes on fiddle Cedric Watson (or) Forest Huval, on Bass is Chuckie Bush (formerly with Beaux Jocques), "Lil" Paul Lavan on drums, and Mark Palms on guitar.
As Joe Hall states “When it comes to the music, I make no distinction between Cajun and Creole. I seek to learn it all.” And over the years Joe has learned from legendary players on both sides. From his youngest days at the feet of his Grandfather Clement “King” Ned to years of listening and learning from masters such as Nolton Semien, Marc Savoy, Bois Sec Ardoin, and Canray Fontenot. And nowadays it’s the musicians and friends who share the stage with Joe who continue to inspire and shape his music. Joe Hall and the Cane Cutters have played at Festival Acadiens, New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, Wassermuzic Festival (Berlin), American Cajun, Zydeco & Blues Festival (German), and across the US & Canada at various Folk, Blues, Cajun & Zydeco Festivals. Joe Hall has also been featured at the Liberty Theater (live radio), the Swam 'n Roll Show, and Woodsongs PBS Show (live TV). "Proud To Be A Creole" CD was nominated for "Best Zydeco Album/CD" 2021 - Best of the Beat OFFBEAT AWARDS.

JOE HALL (accordion) The Hall family was blessed with a hard-working father figure who provided in every way for his family of six out on the southwest Louisiana prairies. Even though Joe never had to work in the fields like most of the Creole sharecroppers since the days of the Civil War, he is an old soul. He did not necessarily break corn or pick sweet potatoes, but he did lend an attentive ear to his elders' many kernels of ancient wisdom. They recognized him as the "anointed" one, and Joe Hall willingly accepted the torch of the Creole cultural flame.
CEDRIC WATSON (fiddle) One of the brightest young talents to emerge in Cajun, Creole, and Zydeco (Louisiana French) music over the last decade, Cedric Watson is a four-time Grammy-nominated fiddler, singer, accordionist & songwriter with seemingly unlimited potential. Originally from San Felipe, TX (population 868), Cedric made his first appearance at the age of 19 at the Zydeco Jam at The Big Easy in Houston, TX. Two years later, he moved to south Louisiana, quickly immersing himself in French music and language.
MARK PALMS (guitar) is a musician who chased the heritage of traditional American music by studying knee-to-knee with cultural giants from West Virginia to West Africa. Mark joined forces with Joe Hall when they met in Louisiana at the Eunice Mardi Gras in 2005. Palms founded Fruge Records to record and document Louisiana cultural artists (Nolton Semien, Mitch Reed, Joe Hall). As a member of The Cane Cutters or as a solo artist, Mark continues to honor the legacy of traditional masters through performing and teaching at music camps.
