One man, one guitar, 5 or 6 harmonicas, and a lot of great music. Joe has the unique ability to make each song his own by infusing his style and spirit. Joe covers rock, pop, blues, and country selections from the 60's to current. Joe performs publicly in the Des Moines area and is also available to perform at bars, restaurants, parties, events, weddings, and back yard barbeques.
All who attended our annual corporate holiday party commented how wonderful it was to have Joe perform. His music enhanced the evening well beyond our expectations. Thanks Joe for helping make our company event a big "hit".
Nice, low-key (for the most part - I do reserve the right to get fired up now and again) music that will resonate with your heart and soul.
Additional Booking Notes
I have my own small portable sound system good for a medium to large rooms. I play a Taylor 6 string and a Yamaha 12 string and Honer harmonicas.
Joe grew up in a musical family with a professional multi-instrumentalist father. After tinkering around with several instruments and playing the trombone in high school band he settled on the guitar. Joe has also been singing and whistling most of his life and picked up some great whistling technique from Roger Whittaker. Throughout high school Joe was active in chorus, swing choir, and small groups, and was inducted into the Iowa All-State Chorus. Over the next several years Joe's priorities were concentrated on family and he performed primarily at home, church, family gatherings, and weddings of family and friends. In 2011 he began to focus more on music and began to build a substantial repertoire of cover songs from the 1960's to current spanning pop, rock, country, folk, and blues genres. Joe covers a wide array of artists including Eric Clapton, Willie Nelson, John Prine, Van Morrison, Gregg Allman, Jason Mraz, and Zac Brown - to name a very few. His current song list includes over 100 songs and he adds more great music regularly. Joe is the regular "Tuesday night guy" at a local bar and is a regular at three local Applebee's Live and Laid Back Saturday Nights. He also makes appearances at several local coffee shops. Joe typically performs solo accompanying himself on both six and twelve string acoustic guitars and occasioanlly breaks into some harmonica riffs. He has his own sound system for small to medium venues and is ready to book!
