Joe Cosas, renaissance man, runs Citrus Music as producer, music director, clinician, session player, engineer, and educator. He delivers the best entertainment in the Tampa Bay area, playing for several different groups and artists from diverse genres. He is currently working with John Blackwell (Prince/Justin Timberlake/Lauren Hill).
Joe’s multi-instrumental and music production talents have allowed him to produce and record projects with award-winning musicians, including Marty Balin (Jefferson Airplane), Jeff Coffin (Dave Matthews Band), and Jonathan Thomas (Ascend the Hill). He has performed on the radio and television several times. He also has performed live, notably with Mike MacArthur (Roger Waters/Frankie Valli/K.C. & the Sunshine Band), Fernando Diez (Gloria Estefan/K.C & the Sunshine Band), Mike Gordon (Phish), Phil Magallanes (Arturo Sandoval/Engelbert Humperdinck/Debbie Gibson), and Early Clover (Coasters). He co-wrote Middle Rhythm Session’s “Ragamuffin,” which has been downloaded over 1 million times and nominated for a Florida Grammy. He boasts a discography of 15 albums, all available on iTunes.
Last year Joe released his first solo album, “Soundtrack to the Everyday Life,” to a sold out audience at the Straz Center’s TECO Theater. Jason Crosby (Allman Brothers/Bruce Springsteen/Susan Tedechi) worked on the album as a consultant.
Joe is the worship/music director for Wellspring-UMC and teaches private lessons. He volunteers locally with alcohol and drug recovery groups, and also has taken international music mission trips to the Philippines and Haiti. His wife, Rebecca, is a part-time professional harpist, organist, and pianist.
