Jaye Devan

Jaye's performance is smart, edgy but still remains relatable and palatable for audiences of all ages. His ability to express even his most frustrating situations with grace and intellect will keep you laughing. He does all of this without the use of vulgarity and little profanity, but is versatile enough to work 'clean' if desired.

Jaye Devan is a standup comedian born and raised in Philadelphia. Jaye found his funny early and was often the comic relief among households filled with his sister and cousins. After graduating, Jaye joined the Marine Corps where he would get his first exposure to standup during a talent show on base. Taking second place was not nearly as significant as the passion he found from telling his stories onstage. He would spend nearly three years honing his craft but upon leaving the Marine Corps found it difficult to balance civilian life with his passion.

In 2013, fifteen years removed from the stage, Jaye sought to get back to pursuing his love for standup. Armed with a bevy of life experience and knowledge, he approaches comedy from the perspective of an ‘everyday dude’. His views on relationships/marriage, fatherhood, corporate life and life as a Black man in America are delivered with a sly candor and unfiltered wit.

His credits include The Comedy Store and Laugh Factory in Hollywood, along with other clubs around the country. He was a semi-finalist for Best Comedian at the NW Black Comedy Festival (Portland) and appeared on Laughs TV (Fox). He is the former host of his own radio show entitled Everyday Talk with Jaye Devan and current co-host of The Pool Table Talk Podcast. His also recently released his first recorded standup special, titled ‘Temper Yourself’ on DVD and Amazon Prime in 2019.
