I routinely talk on overcoming adversity, finding your purpose, the importance of character, how to truly value others, personality type differences, and why investing in personal growth positively and exponentially increases their effectiveness in all areas of their life.

I'm routinely told that I make people think and that they are leave the event I spoke out desiring more in their personal and professional lives.

I am living my dream doing what I am passionate about, but it wasn't always this way.

My two older sisters and I were raised by our father after our mother was killed two days before Christmas when the car we were riding in was hit head on by a drunk driver.

Our father loved us, worked diligently to provide, and ensured we had the essentials. I was somewhat shy, required a speech therapists up until 4th grade, and I never fully applied myself to anything; I simply aspired to do just enough to get by. We were encouraged to take care of our school studies, but there was never an expectation to do more than graduate high school.

The night I graduated high school I remember a friend asking me "what next?" I replied, "I don't know, but I'll tell you two things I'll never do with my life; I'll never step back in another classroom and I'll never join the military".

Two and a half years later I found myself rubbing my bald head as a new enlisted recruit in the United States Air Force. This decision profoundly changed my life and set me on a course focused on serving others and opened doors that defy explanation.

In the military I was made an instructor. I found myself standing in front of classes with as many as 60 students. This once shy boy with speech challenges was now being praised for communicate skills and admired for work ethic. I began to find my identity and to develop a niche that came easy to me. I was sent overseas and exposed to other cultures.

I've lost loved ones to breast cancer, diabetes, and lung cancer. One of my sisters lived for a party, suffered through drug use, survived being shot in the head by a boyfriend, and wound up an alcoholic.

I was part of a team that helped sift rubble following the Oklahoma City Federal Building bombing; earned two college degrees; got commissioned as an Air Force officer; post AF career made a mistake and pursued a job based on comfort, but not one that brought passion and joy; reflection helped me find my why; major career change and alignment with gifts and purpose.
