Laugh, Connect, Learn, Get Refocused and Lead!
Life is about Doing, not simply Being.
I'm passionate about helping individuals and teams grow personally and professionally. I'm most known for helping organizations developing highly effective and efficient teams.
I often speak, train and coach on leadership, the importance of perseverance, overcoming failure and adversity, as well as the power and importance of self belief.
As a retired Air Force veteran, I inspire with stories that tug at your heart, make you laugh, and leave you motivated.
If you and your team are ready to be more, do more, and give more in order to achieve more, then book Jay and LEAVE YOUR EXCUSES AT THE DOOR.
We made the right choice in choosing Jay to speak to our company's Executive & Management group. I was very impressed by Jay's desire to learn as much as he could about our company in order to customize his presentation to the goals we had in mind for the event. I was even more impressed with him after his presentation – which was very positive, inspiring and thought-provoking. We will definitely use Jay again!
Response from Jay Johnson:
Thank you Lee. It was an honor to serve and spend time with the dynamic professionals and leaders of The SALT Group.
Jay simply loves to help other people! He has a gift for helping individuals and groups journey through the processes of self-examination, goal setting, improvement, and growth...and he does it all with a servant leadership heart. His authenticity and good nature fuels the potency of his communication and connection with others...and it's that connection that makes him so effective.
Jay possesses extensive knowledge and experience in helping professionals. This is derived not only from his career as an Air Force Officer where he led organizations, teams and process improvement efforts, but also from the many clients he has helped as a coach, trainer, and speaker.
If you're looking for a knowledgeable professional with world class abilities to connect with an audience...and to entertain, inform, and inspire them, your search is over. Jay is great speaker and as authentic as they come!
Response from Jay Johnson:
Thank you, Sir, for the very kind and thoughtful review.
Yours in Success,
I heard Jay Johnson speak at the Lead2Live Conference in October. He is genuine in his words and actions. He lives by what he says and that's a rarity these days. His message on TRUST was inspirational and motivational. I look forward to hearing more on his words of wisdom.
Response from Jay Johnson:
Thank you, Dianna, for the review and kind words. I'm glad my message resonated with you.
Simply brilliant! Even though I've heard Jay speak on numerous occasions he always make me think. I absolutely love how he uses compelling, personal stories to reinforce his key points, as well as how he always challenges us to lead our lives rather than accept them. Thank you for being you, Jay, and helping me continue to grow.

"I've personally hired Jay and had him speak and provide leadership training to my company. However, I recently attended a Leadership Development conference where Jay was one of the featured speakers. He spoke on "The Importance of Trust", a message positively received by the attendees. Jay is a gifted communicator with a natural ability to connect with his audience. His message inspired, motivated, and equipped me with practical takeaways I was able to begin implementing in my life. Well done, Sir! I look forward to hiring you again and bringing you back to speak to my team"

I saw Jay speak recently at a Leadership Conference and one of the many things that stood out to me was his point that in life there are lifters and there are leaners. Based on what I observed leading up to the event and through his inspirational speech...Jay is a lifter. He shows deep respect for others in a way that leaves those in attendance aware of their own significance and importance. Jay's use of personal stories and scenes from well known movies help him connect with his audience and reinforce his message.
One other aspect, Jay was integral in the planning and execution of the event. He and his team paid attention to the smallest of details that in the end resulted in one of the most well organized, value added events I've been to in many years.
Congratulations Jay! Thank you for your professionalism and excellence.

Wow! If you haven't heard Jay Johnson speak from the stage you are missing out. I attended an event last week and heard him speak to 130 plus business leaders, educators and sales professionals on the topic of Servant Leadership. His passion for helping others grow personally and professionally was evident. He took those of us in attendance on a journey that made us laugh, feel good about ourselves, and then he challenged us to be more, do more and give more in order to get more.
Do yourself and those you work for and with a favor...schedule Jay to speak, tell him you want your team motivated and inspired, and then get ready to be wowed."

Response from Jay Johnson:
Thank you for the kind words, Josh. I love what I do and feel fortunate and blessed to be able to serve and assist others.
Thank you for taking time to share a review and to recommend me.
May we all be a flame others seek to light their candles.
What to Expect
When you hire me you get someone who is authentic, transparent and sincerely values others.
I connect by sharing stories, which helps the audience relate and better understand the information and insights I'm sharing, so they can in turn apply the insights to their own lives.
I routinely talk on overcoming adversity, finding your purpose, the importance of character, how to truly value others, personality type differences, and why investing in personal growth positively and exponentially increases their effectiveness in all areas of their life.
I'm routinely told that I make people think and that they are leave the event I spoke out desiring more in their personal and professional lives.
I am living my dream doing what I am passionate about, but it wasn't always this way.
My two older sisters and I were raised by our father after our mother was killed two days before Christmas when the car we were riding in was hit head on by a drunk driver.
Our father loved us, worked diligently to provide, and ensured we had the essentials. I was somewhat shy, required a speech therapists up until 4th grade, and I never fully applied myself to anything; I simply aspired to do just enough to get by. We were encouraged to take care of our school studies, but there was never an expectation to do more than graduate high school.
The night I graduated high school I remember a friend asking me "what next?" I replied, "I don't know, but I'll tell you two things I'll never do with my life; I'll never step back in another classroom and I'll never join the military".
Two and a half years later I found myself rubbing my bald head as a new enlisted recruit in the United States Air Force. This decision profoundly changed my life and set me on a course focused on serving others and opened doors that defy explanation.
In the military I was made an instructor. I found myself standing in front of classes with as many as 60 students. This once shy boy with speech challenges was now being praised for communicate skills and admired for work ethic. I began to find my identity and to develop a niche that came easy to me. I was sent overseas and exposed to other cultures.
(Still under development)
I've lost loved ones to breast cancer, diabetes, and lung cancer. One of my sisters lived for a party, suffered through drug use, survived being shot in the head by a boyfriend, and wound up an alcoholic.
I was part of a team that helped sift rubble following the Oklahoma City Federal Building bombing; earned two college degrees; got commissioned as an Air Force officer; post AF career made a mistake and pursued a job based on comfort, but not one that brought passion and joy; reflection helped me find my why; major career change and alignment with gifts and purpose.
