Overview
Hi, my name is Jason Gong and I'm a pianist and cellist based in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
I provide services as:
Solo: Piano | Cello
Duo: Piano Violin | Piano Cello | Cello Violin
String Quartet (2 Violins, Viola, Cello)
I perform for weddings, dinners, birthdays, ceremonies, graduations, recordings, retirement homes, etc. I also teach piano and cello privately and accompany instrumentalists, singers, musical theater, and choral groups.
In addition to classical styles I also play a lot of pop, rock, and other contemporary styles! I love to improvise, I play by ear, and I'm also a very strong sight-reader.

Jason knocked our Holiday corporate party out of the park!! He worked with me on prep for the party in a very streamlined manner. We organized our set lists - one for holiday music and one for live piano Karaoke. Jason was able to record the 10 live karaoke songs ahead of time for our employee talent to rehearse prior to the event. What an incredible experience to have our team put on a show with such an incredibly talented Pianist. I would highly recommend Jason for any event - his playing style is artful, fluid and extremely inspiring.

Jason was a great pianist and was able to play all of the songs that we requested for our wedding and they were played very well. Our one complaint is that we were told that he would bring a microphone for us to use for the ceremony, but he did not. Everything else was great!

About
Jason is an international pianist, cellist, and music educator from Michigan. He received his MPerf in Piano Performance at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama and his BMus in piano performance at the University of Michigan. He has performed on his own and with other musicians around the world, in places like England, Portugal, the Czech Republic, and the United States.
Locally, Jason works with many musicians in the University of Michigan as well as individuals and private studios around Washtenaw, Wayne, and Oakland counties. In addition, he has worked and performed with many chamber groups and orchestras such as the UM University Choir, MUSKET, Detroit Symphony Orchestra Civic Ensemble, the Panache Group, Cellochan, Mosaic Youth Theatre, and Seaway Chorale and Orchestra.
Most recently, Jason was the artistic director and soloist for a chamber performance of Gershwin's Concerto in F and for a collaboration between solo piano and dancers and choreographers from the London Contemporary Dance School.
In the summer, Jason teaches cello and music improvisation at CellochanWoods in Waitsfield, Vermont. (link hidden)
