Thank you for visiting!
My name is Jason, and I am a freelance musician performing Jazz, Classical, R&B, Hip Hop, and many other styles in the LA and OC areas. In the summer of 2013, I auditioned and was a member of the prestigious All American College Band which performed at the Disneyland Resort for the summer. I currently perform at Disney's California Adventure in the show "Five and Dime" on saxophone.
I just received my M.M. degree in Jazz Studies from CSULB, and am excited to continue performing, writing, and teaching in Southern California! You can find me on YouTube for your reference.
Please don't hesitate to contact me for anything!
Great feedback from our guests during cocktail hour! Highly recommend!
I'll surely contact Jason again when in need of musicians. He was so personable, helpful and genuine; it really made selecting him for my event a breeze. He also was a visionary in adding elements to my event to make it better than I could've ever imagined.
Thanks Jason, Tim and Luca!
Response from Jason Fabus:
Yes!!! I'm so happy for you and your guy. Heard it went well, and it's great to hear it from you!
Thank you so much I loved your performance at my daughter xv. :)
Jason was contacted to provide a New Orleans style session for a company employee meeting. With over 100 in attendance, Jason and his crew blew the audience away with their talent and cool style. Everyone couldn't get enough of the smooth sounds provided for this fun event. We now have our entertainers of choice. Thank you Jason for making it a wonderful experience.

What to Expect
I have a variety of groups that can cater to anyone's needs. We have been using a trio lately with piano, bass, and saxophone. It provides a nice soft jazz sound, that won't be overbearing in an intimate setting. I also run my own quintet, Fabus Five, which plays a wide spread of music, including jazz standards, hip hop, rhythm and blues, and original compositions. If you are just looking for a horn section, we are ready for that as well! My colleagues and I have put together three-horn sections and have rehearsed horn lines together. We have played with various vocalists around LA and OC.
Milwaukee born saxophonist Jason Fabus has enjoyed a wonderful journey as both a musician and entertainer out to the west coast of California. He is highly sought after as a professional woodwind musician in both the Los Angeles and Orange County areas. He runs several jazz groups, including his quintet “The Fabus Five” which has been having success putting on performances throughout southern California. Jason is also an esteemed educator, serving as a coach for the Los Alamitos High School and Lakewood High School band programs, while also maintaining his own studio of private students in saxophone, flute, clarinet, and piano.
As an entertainer, Jason auditioned and was selected to be a member of the highly prestigious Disney’s 2013 All-American College Band. With more than 2,000 applicants auditioning each year, this 21-piece band performs throughout the summer at the Disneyland Resort. It also gave Jason the chance to work and perform with some of the nation’s top musicians like Wycliffe Gordon, Bob Mintzer, Steve Houghton, Jiggs Whigam, Peter Erskine, Rex Richardson, Sal Lozano, Gordon Goodwin, and Willie Murillo. Following his summer with the AACB, Jason auditioned and was selected to play the character Zoot, saxophonist in the acclaimed show “Five and Dime” at Disney’s California Adventure.
Jason received a M.M. degree in Jazz Studies from California State University Long Beach, studying with Sal Lozano and Jeff Jarvis. Attending CSULB as a Bob Cole Scholar, Jason served as the lead alto chair in the Concert Jazz Orchestra, which won the 2014 Downbeat Student Music Award for best collegiate graduate big band. Jason holds a B.M. from the University of Minnesota: Twin Cities, where he double majored in both saxophone performance and music education. During his undergraduate studies, he had the privilege of studying with Eugene Rousseau, Dean Sorenson, David Milne, and Phil Hey.
Writing a new chapter of his life in southern California, Jason is excited to continue the traditions that have helped him grow throughout the years. Music, entertainment, and teaching will always serve as his outlets in doing so.
