May 25, 2022Ms. Janis was awesome. She came to my daughter’s 4th birthday party. Communication leading up to the event was great. She arrived promptly at our predetermined start time and was flexible to allow more time for late comers. She was excellent with the kids keeping them engaged and entertained. Parents were able to sit back, relax and enjoy the show too. She is a true professional with children and we were lucky to have her at our event.

May 6, 2020I am a stay at home Mom with a 2 years old and 8 month old. I have been introducing my oldest to language arts, math and art on my own with a little help from various websites. Wearing both Mommy hat and educator hat can be challenging sometimes because as most know children tend to express their true self with mommy even when they are angels for the teacher. In addition creating a structured program that was not boring, not overwhelming and not too strict was also a challenge. I found Ms Janis Music Club on Facebook and decided to give it a try. My 2 year old loves it! The session is packed with information, however, it is not overwhelming and is lots of fun. It is filled with singing and dancing and most enjoyable are Ms Janis' original songs. In addition to the Iive sessions, Ms Janis provides educational arts and crafts. I was astonished when my child asked me when were we going to do the next craft! Not only does it help to reinforce the lesson of the week, it helps to encourage and develop motor skills, independence and a sense of accomplishment. My child enjoys showing her Dad and grandparents what she has learned and what she has made. She loves visiting Ms Janis on Mommy's laptop! All I have to do is turn it on and I have her attention.

May 5, 2020My 3-year old daughter loves Ms. Janis Music! This virtual program has been a life-saver during the Covid-19 pandemic! She really enjoys the music movement breaks, story time, alphabet crafts and more. She especially enjoys the shout outs at the beginning and the end of class and literally blushes when you "sing" her name! Keep growing your program! We know that it takes a lot of work and it is very appreciated.

Ms. Janis spent 20 years living in New York City before moving to Palm beach Gardens, FL in 2018. Growing up, she was inspired by Tina Turner’s voice and heartfelt songs which fueled her desire to sing, dance and act at a young age.
In high school, she attended Greenville South Carolina's only public performing arts high school at the time, Greenville’s Fine Arts Center which spring boarded her singing and dancing passion. The stage embraced her as the Leading Player in the musical Pippin.
Ms. Janis received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Howard University in Washington, DC. Her concentration was in acting, however, she continued to study dance and take voice lessons to hone her craft. After graduating from Howard, Ms. Janis was cast in her first regional theater show, Blues for an Alabama Sky, directed by Al Freeman Jr. at the Vineyard Playhouse in Martha’s Vineyard. This led her to earn a Master of Fine Arts graduate degree at Rutgers University in 2001. In 2017, Ms. Janis received her MST from Pace University in New York City.
When Ms. janis first moved to NY, she performed non-stop with her then singing/songwriting group, Sultry Jones, at venues such as Le Bar Bat, The Bitter End and in Philadelphia at the Grape Street Pub. Next came a tremendous opportunity to record at Jimi Hendrix’s Electric Lady Studios where Sultry Jones completed two demos.
Ms. Janis began her work with children in NY with the Periwinkle National Theater Group. Through this group, she visited NYC public schools that were considered high risk and through performance helped the students deal with bullying and violence.
She then met the award-winning Choreographer and Founder of Leapsmart, Monica Levy. Leapsmart is an innovative creative movement program for preschool children. Ms. Janis worked with Monica teaching thousands of children in Westchester for five years. In 2008, Ms. Janis became a Leapsmart business owner serving NYC as well as Brooklyn.
In 2009, Ms. Janis released her first children’s album, Moving Bodies and Inspiring Hearts Volume 1 to great reviews from teachers, parents and children. Most recently, Ms. Janis has completed her sophomore album, Tumbling Fun Volume 2. The album has 14 original songs that are inspired by Ms. Janis’ love of southern rock and blues. The music encourages children to sing, dance and dream of traveling to faraway places. Tumbling Fun is set to be released on February 12th, 2013 followed by an invitation-only album release party on February 16th.
