Jamissa AM born the youngest of four siblings: who were raised by their mother, a single parent. At the early age of 7 she began expressing her love for music. She has always had a strong ambition to be heard throughout the world. Growing up Jamissa was able to display her talents at school talent shows, community plays, or anywhere there were listeners. At the age of eighteen Jamissa moved to Charlotte, North Carolina to pursue her dream as an artist. While residing in Charlotte, Jamissa began focusing on her career as a rap artist, producer, and advocate in her community. Jamissa took this time to focus on her gift as well as writing for upcoming artists and gracing the stage with Local Recording Artist. Through this experience of her being able to grace the stage with other artist in the music industry it allowed her the opportunity to transition into Broadcasting/Communications which also gave her opportunities to star in local radio and TV commercials. After dealing with the everyday struggles of life she realized that her plans were not in God’s plan and that there was a calling on her life that was beyond what she could ever imagine.
Never forgetting her gospel roots and her upbringing in the church she accepted the Lord as her personal savior, joined Friendship Baptist Church and she began to use her music as a witness tool to reach the world and the lost to bring them to Christ. She continues to stay inspired to follow Christ and to preach HIS goodness wherever she goes. Jamissa is able to provide God’s music for God’s people, touch lives through spiritual praise, witness to the lost through the gift of song as well as using her life experiences of ups and downs to inspire others. Currently, Jamissa has penned several gospel rap tracks like: “Awesome God”, “Don’t Ask 4 Much” and currently topping the charts on the REVERBNATION charts. Currently Jamissa is President& CEO of A.G.P. (Anointed Gospel Praise), an independent record label. Jamissa credits all of her success to God, and her family and her friends that support her ministry. After nearly two decades in the music industry as an accomplished producer, solo artist, writer, motivational speaker and a saved young woman of God she is still in awe of how much God has blessed her. When asked about her future endeavors and how she foresees her future she stated, “I just do my thing. I don’t know what life has in store for me but I just hope and pray for the best for everyone who has goals and that they will become who God wants them to be.” Her favorite scripture that she lives by daily is Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me!” The highly anticipated solo debut album is expected to be released the Winter of 2015
