I am a solo pianist, and perform any genre under the sun (pop, gospel , latin, cabaret, R&B), plus you can request song from me. Some of my favorite tunes are by artists like Chaka Khan, Lionel Ritchie, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Chicago, Elton John, Billy Joel, Whitney Houston, Earth Wind & Fire, Micheal McDonald. You can expect to hear one of a kind version of your favorite song unlike anything you heard from your piano bar guy around the corner.
Pianist, composer Jakub Rojek has appeared alongside jazz greats Dave Holland, Roscoe Mitchell, Dave Douglas, Cecil McBee, Dominik Wania and has been awarded prizes and scholarships from International Composition Competition in Darmstadt, Germany, Internationale Bachakademie Stuttgart, New England Conservatory, and performed in venues such as Jordan Hall in Boston, Steinway Hall and Spectrum in NYC, Crowder Hall in Tucson, Chopin Theatre in Chicago. His works have been featured at Oh My Ears New Music Festival in Phoenix, Tocalo Tucson and documented on five album releases. Rojek has received commissions and worked with visual artist Karine Laval, Grammy-nominated multi-reedman Aaron Kruziki, Polish soprano Milena Lange, Self-Imposed Exile, Javelinas, Leah Netsky, film maker Özlem Ayse Özgür, and percussionist Michael Pratt. Of late, he has performed in Poland with his European quartet featuring reedman Bartek Prucnal, bassist Alan Wykpisz, and drummer Grzegorz Pałka.
I arrive early to set up, in case you do not have a grand piano (preferred). I can play on an electric piano, which I always bring to the gig with me. I also have my own amplification. I expect to get paid prior to the engagement on the day of the event.
