He played his very first recital a year later, and never looked back. That easy chemistry caught my ear, I was the talent‑buyer at Amarillo’s Starlight Ranch, and I had to tap Jake to warm up the stage for Sublime with Rome. There was nothing like hearing 5000 people cheering for a complete unknown. One packed crowd later, Jake packed his bags for Austin to chase music full‑time. He cut his debut album Form Is Dead at Mount Vernon Studios in Lubbock with producer Alex Sanchez, blending rock‑and‑roll grit, singer songwriter storytelling, and alternative edge.
