Jaime Michele is a vocalist and pianist who has been practicing her passion for nearly 30 years. She plays a wide variety of music ranging from timeless classics to the Top 40 hits of today. Some of her influences include a combination of vintage and contemporary artists like Eva Cassidy, Etta James, Sarah Vaughan, Nina Simone, Norah Jones, Billy Joel, Elton John, Alicia Keys and Grace Potter. Her soulful voice is strong yet sincere and her classical training often drives her piano accompaniment.
Jaime is an experienced musician originally from New York City who began her musical career at the tender age of 6. She began singing in bands when she was 17. She played with the NYC based original funk band known as Jason Yudoff & The New Hotness for 3 years. She has played some of the best venues in NYC including such notable places as The Bitter End, The Knitting Factory and CBGB's Gallery. After moving to Wilmington in 2006, she fronted and toured up and down the southeast coast with a prominent local dance/rock cover band called BLP for 6 years. Her dedication to the close-knit Wilmington musical community landed her the cover of The Beat Magazine which is no longer in circulation but is coveted by anyone who appreciates music.
Currently, she plays solo shows and is the lead singer of Uptown Easy ((link hidden)) a 7-piece wedding/corporate event dance/variety band based in Wilmington, NC. She also teaches K-5 music at a New Hanover County public school. You will be super impressed & blown away by her professionalism, passion & desire to make your event the most memorable!
