June 24, 2016Wonderful Performance
Igor really helped us out. We had a late cancellation for a very important Grand Opening and Igor-on a less than 24 hour notice-stepped in and provided a wonderful performance. Igor was on time, professional, courteous, well dressed and a pleasure to work with. I would book him again in an instant. I have been an Activity Director for 10 years and I am looking for an event (excuse) to hire Igor again!

About
Chopin with a pulse. Debussy with a different kind of gravity.
I don’t play background wallpaper.
I’m Igor Korokhov, a conservatory-trained pianist with a Piano Performance degree from 1995 and more than 30 years of stage experience. Classical technique is my foundation, but not my boundary. Jazz harmony, improvisation, soul, R&B, pop, electronic music - I’m interested in all of it, and I love what happens when different musical worlds start talking to each other.
For an event, I can stay beautifully faithful to the music you love - or take it somewhere unexpected when the moment calls for it. Sometimes the best performance is simply a great piece played beautifully. Sometimes a familiar song deserves a new perspective. I enjoy both.
I take the music seriously. I don’t take the rules quite as seriously.
And when the evening moves from listening to dancing, I can take that same musical approach into the DJ booth - adding live keys, improvisation, and a musician’s ear to the mix

Influences and inspiration
My style bridges pure classical technique, rich jazz harmonies, and modern pop energy:
Chopin & Debussy — taught me how to make a piano sing with elegance, nuance, and color.
Bill Evans & Herbie Hancock — brought sophisticated jazz voicings and effortless groove into my touch.
Stevie Wonder & Michael Jackson — gave my playing its rhythmic soul, energy, and timeless appeal.
Billie Eilish & Maroon 5 — keep my repertoire fresh, current, and recognizable for every generation.
