Authentic and inceptive "Grassicana", Ida Clare is comprised of mandolinist and songwriter, Jim Wheatley, guitarist and vocalist, Lea Cockrell, banjo player Robin Thixton along with the newest band member, Nick Stevens on bass. All four have diverse musical backgrounds and their coming together has produced a sound as original as the songs they write.

Ida Clare, from Louisville, KY plays a diverse mix of Bluegrass, Country, Newgrass, with an abundance of original material. It doesn't matter if you catch them performing at a festival, at a rehearsal or just warming up back stage before a show, the music is always exciting and fun.
The members of the band, mandolin player and song writer Jim Wheatley, powerhouse vocalist Lea Cockrell, banjo player Robin Thixton, and most recent addition to the band, Nick Stevens on bass, are no strangers to performing. Nearly everyone is a vocalist and multi-instrumentalist and the depth of both stage and studio experience is obvious. The band has an intuitive understanding of performance dynamics. The body of music the band performs is wide ranging but the back-bone is always Bluegrass.
