About
🎵 Introduction
Music has been at the center of my life since I was a kid, and drums have always been my voice. I’ve been playing for over 12 years, and in that time I’ve grown from a young kid obsessed with rudiments on a practice pad into a seasoned drummer who’s played live shows, worked with respected musicians, and trained with some of the best drummers in the world. Today, I’m proud to call myself a versatile live and session drummer who can step into almost any musical setting and deliver groove, feel, and professionalism.
For me, drumming isn’t about being flashy or showing off — it’s about serving the song and keeping the pocket strong. I thrive on locking in with the band, supporting the music, and driving the energy forward, whether I’m playing in front of a few dozen people or a packed festival crowd. My playing is all about consistency, adaptability, and groove.

🎶 Genres & Styles
One of the things I take the most pride in is my versatility. Over the years, I’ve made it a point to learn, study, and perform across a wide range of genres. My specialties include:
• Reggae & Ska – Deep roots grooves, California-style reggae, and pocket-driven rhythm.
• Classic Rock & Rock – Timeless grooves inspired by drummers like Ringo Starr, John Bonham, and Phil Collins.
• Latin & Jazz – Polyrhythms, syncopation, and dynamics.
• Metal – Precision, double-kick control, and energy-driven power.
• R&B & Funk – Tight pocket grooves inspired by players like Clyde Stubblefield and John Blackwell.
• Worship & Gospel – Musical sensitivity and dynamics for modern worship bands.
• Country – Steady, song-focused drumming with emphasis on backbeat and feel.
I’ve spent years working on being able to adapt to any situation. Whether it’s a reggae setlist, a worship service, a funk jam, or a last-minute rock gig, I know how to bring the right feel, sound, and professionalism.

🌟 Notable Experience
I’ve had the honor of being connected to and working alongside some incredible musicians and mentors, which has shaped me into the player I am today.
• Performed with Storm Bringer – A highlight in my live drumming career, giving me the chance to lock in with a band and drive the energy of a full performance.
• Connections with Blue Öyster Cult & The Hip Abduction – I’ve had the opportunity to share the stage and environment with respected acts, learning firsthand what professionalism at the highest level looks like.
• Mentorship & Lessons with Top Drummers:
• Matt Poynter (drummer for The Hip Abduction) – My longtime mentor who shaped my fundamentals and feel.
• Gregg Bissonette (David Lee Roth, Ringo Starr’s All-Starr Band) – Special lessons that taught me about musicality across genres.
• Richie Ramone (The Ramones) – Firsthand punk energy and discipline.
• John Blackwell (Prince) – Lessons in groove, pocket, and musical feel.
• John Spinelli and others at live events and masterclasses.
Each of these experiences gave me something unique — from pocket discipline to live energy to professional stage presence.

🎤 Current Work
I currently serve as the drummer for Starkey Road Baptist Church, playing Wednesday night services. Worship drumming has taught me a lot about sensitivity, dynamics, and consistency, because in that setting, it’s not about showing off — it’s about supporting the music and leading people in an experience.
Outside of church, I continue to play live shows and session work whenever possible.
🛠️ Skills & Strengths
What sets me apart as a drummer isn’t just skill — it’s a combination of professional habits, adaptability, and reliability:
• Play by Ear – I can learn songs quickly without charts and adapt instantly in live settings.
• Step In on Short Notice – I’m the drummer you can call last minute — I’ll show up ready to play.
• Prepared & Dependable – If I commit, I follow through. I show up on time, ready to work.
• Professional Kit – I own and transport my own clean, pro-quality drum kit (5 shells, 3 cymbals, custom parts).
• Flexible & Supportive – I’m not just a drummer; I’m a team player. I’ll help with setup, adapt to changes, and keep the mood positive.
• Strong Connections – Through mentors, bands, and friends in the music world, I’ve built a network that continues to open opportunities.

🎧 Influences
My playing is shaped by a wide range of influences, from classic to modern drummers:
• Neil Peart (Rush) – Precision, creativity, and discipline.
• Ringo Starr (The Beatles) – Simplicity and groove that serves the song.
• Stewart Copeland (The Police) – Energy and unique rhythmic approach.
• Travis Barker (Blink-182) – Power, speed, and modern edge.
• Phil Collins – Songwriting and dynamic drumming.
• Carlton Barrett (Bob Marley) – Pocket-driven reggae grooves.
These influences taught me that drumming is about more than chops — it’s about being musical, adaptable, and consistent.
⸻
✈️ Professional Mindset
Beyond music, I’m also pursuing a career as an Air Traffic Controller (ATC). That role requires absolute focus, calm under pressure, and precision — the same qualities I bring behind the drum kit. My discipline as an ATC candidate carries into my drumming: I show up sharp, reliable, and prepared to lock in no matter what the situation demands.

Influences and inspiration
My drumming has been shaped by a wide mix of artists across different genres. I grew up listening to and studying the legends, and each one has left a mark on the way I approach rhythm, feel, and performance.
• Classic Rock: Neil Peart (Rush), Phil Collins (Genesis), and Ringo Starr (The Beatles) taught me the balance between technical skill and song-serving simplicity. They showed me that drums can be both powerful and supportive.
• Reggae & Ska: Carlton Barrett (Bob Marley and The Wailers) and Stewart Copeland (The Police) inspired my love for reggae, ska, and groove-heavy playing. Their ability to create feel and space in the music has influenced how I lock into rhythm sections.
• Funk & R&B: Clyde Stubblefield (James Brown) and John Blackwell (Prince) shaped my pocket, timing, and funk discipline. Their influence pushes me to keep things tight and driving without overplaying.
• Punk & Energy: Richie Ramone (The Ramones) and Travis Barker (Blink-182) showed me the power of energy, stamina, and stage presence — elements that carry into any style I play.
• Worship & Gospel: Playing at Starkey Road Baptist Church every week has grounded me in the importance of sensitivity, dynamics, and musical leadership. Gospel and worship drumming taught me how to listen deeply and serve the bigger picture of the music.
• Metal & Power: From modern metal drummers, I’ve taken inspiration for precision, speed, and endurance — pushing myself to adapt my playing to more aggressive, technical settings.
All of these influences together shaped me into the drummer I am today: versatile, pocket-focused, adaptable, and passionate about serving the song first. Whether it’s reggae, funk, rock, worship, or metal, I carry these influences into every performance.
