Hug Dealer a hit with Students.

We recently had Kashea out to speak with students regarding diversity, unity and sharing with one another regarding obstacles they face every day in school. Through his spoken work he provided a powerful message that captivated the students attention. He was thoughtful and told stories that related to students and the topics of discussion. I would recommend the Hug Dealer to schools, youth programs etc... He will motivate and provoke thought for those who are willing to listen.

Hired as: Motivational Speaker, Spoken Word Artist

Kashea deserves to be heard by a broader audience....

I am a member of Portland Jobs with Justice, a coalition of over 90 labor, community and faith organizations. Our purpose is to build solidarity between our member organizations and the broader community in support of workers rights as well as economic and social justice for everyone.

At our 2011 annual dinner, Kashea Kilson-Anderson gave a spoken word performance that focused on the issues mentioned above. The content and presentation was outstanding and the crowd of some 300 people responded with a standing ovation.

I have personally read many of Kashea’s other poems and writings and have been extremely impressed with the excellence of his writing and the depth and passion that he expresses.

Kashea deserves to be heard by a broader audience that will benefit from his artistic expression. I highly recommend that anyone reading this support and promote Kashea and his work.

Entertaining and Dynamic

I've had the pleasure of seeing Hug Dealer perform several times and I'm always impressed. He brings a raw, real, energy to the stage and is an entertaining and dynamic performer. I also like that his content is diverse.

Get's the Crowd into It.

I have seen him as both a spoken word artist and an emcee and he knows how to get the crowd into it. If I needed a spoken word performer or an emcee for any event, I'd book him in a second!

As DJ for the Hugs and Shrugs show on (link hidden), Kashea AKA “Hug Dealer” uses the Internet airwaves to play quality music that not only makes people feel good but also talks about social issues as well as highlight some of Portland’s best Hip-Hop and Soul Artists.
As a Spoken Word Artist, Kashea has been entertaining crowds with his poetry that has touched upon topics ranging from politics to blueberry muffins. When he first began performing in late 2007, Kashea’s blunt style, matched with his boisterous, yet passionate delivery, earned him the nickname of “Portland’s Angry Poet” from his peers.
