Over the past 4 years, singer-songwriters Jackie Rankin and Joe Petri have been developing a sound and songwriting style all their own. Honest Penny was formed in 2010 when Joe returned to his hometown of Buffalo, NY after several years of gigging with a folk rock trio in the NYC area. Drawn together by a love of folk and rock music, Joe and Jackie immediately began writing and crafting a signature sound at area open mic nights. The duo quickly graduated to regular gigs in the Western New York area including live performances at the Buffalo International Film Festival, the Clarence Center Coffee Co., Parings Wine Bar, Wine on Third, and the Taste of Diversity and Infringement Festivals, to name a few. In March of 2014 guitar and bass player Scott Horton joined the duo. Scott brings decades of experience playing with local bands to round out their sound.
