About

Our Story:
We are a collaboration of musicians coming from all backgrounds and genres of music. This 6-piece band started out as a simple acoustic trio. From the beginning, their vocal strength and expanding song list was a defining strength. They soon realized they would require more instrumentation and the idea of bringing a full size band to their performance emerged. Over a short period of time, 3 more musicians came together and Highland Skye was born. Now with 4 lead vocalists the scope of music they could cover was almost unlimited. Their song list runs the gamut from Lady Gaga and The Dixie Chicks to Bonnie Raitt, David Bowie and The Cranberries!
The Band:
Lead Guitarist and Vocalist Britt Mitchell has shared the stage with many local musicians over the last 40 years. He was recognized by Current magazine in 1989 as Male Vocalist and Guitarist of the year and has been featured on the cover of Gig Magazine. He is also a recording artist, composer and producer.

Rhythm Guitarist and Vocalist Priscilla Mitchell has played with local bands for over 10 years. Her vocal range and stage presence are a key part of this group. She and husband Britt Mitchell form a tight guitar duo for Highland Skye.

Vocalist and Percussionist Ana Welch is a local recording artist who began singing with her sister as children. She has done voice-overs for various projects and is an accomplished illustrator.

Keyboardist and Vocalist Jane Bray has been touring with bands all over the USA and Canada for 40 years, including her California Bay Area band “Fragile” who recorded and toured an album in 1984. 20 years ago she made Texas her home and has been playing locally ever since. Her voice is sure to rock your soul.

Drummer Scott Leidecker is a veteran of the Austin music scene from the days of the iconic night clubs “Black Cat” and “Steamboat” on 6th street. He’s played with bands that opened for many notable Grammy nominees. He is the rock that holds us together.

Bassist and Vocalist Troy Thomas is a young up-and-coming musician who has been playing bass since middle school. His natural talent is a perfect fit. Together with Scott they form a solid rhythm section for Highland Skye.
