I grew up with henna as a meaningful part of my culture. It was always something that brought people together for celebrations, rituals, and everyday beauty. What started as a tradition in my own life has grown into a passion I love sharing with others.
Now based in NYC, I offer modern and traditional henna designs for birthdays, bridal events, weddings, and more. Each design is done with care, intention, and a deep respect for the art form and its cultural roots ✨

I know it's not easy with lots of people asking you to do their Mendhi, but she really knew how to navigate and ensure everyone was well looked after.

When you book me as your henna artist, you’re getting a seamless, elevated experience from start to finish. I use only high-quality, organic, all-natural henna for rich, long-lasting stains that are safe for all skin types.
For events, I bring everything needed for a polished setup, including table drapery, signage, and all application materials. Each design is carefully applied and finished with a lemon sugar sealant to enhance color and longevity, along with cotton balls for proper aftercare.
I arrive early and am fully set up at least 15 minutes before your event begins, so everything runs smoothly from the first guest onward. During sessions, I create a welcoming, relaxed environment - engaging with clients, making conversation, and ensuring everyone feels comfortable and excited about their design.
Whether it’s a party, wedding, or special event, I focus on both beautiful artistry and a memorable experience for your guests.
Hello! I'm Sona. My passion for henna began at a very, very young age and I'm so happy its blossomed into what it is today. With practice and resilience, I gained the confidence to share my work with others. I feel that its cultural significance/context is necessary to understand to fully enjoy its beauty which is why I always like to share the history of henna (mehendi) with those that I encounter.
