Hella Fitzgerald - from bebop to hip-hop!! A deluxe party band based in Northern California, they specialize in vintage jazz and jive blues, classic soul, funk, R&B, 90's and contemporary songs.
Featuring some of the finest musicians in the Northern California area, Hella Fitzgerald transitions seamlessly throughout the different eras with style and grace, supporting events of any size, theme and budget. Incorporating songs by Amy Winehouse, Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder, Etta James, James Brown, Bruno Mars, and of course Ella Fitzgerald. We also welcome requests.

February 23, 2025Hella Fitzgerald played for my 40th birthday party and they were absolutely top notch! Every step of the process was easy, professional and Meredith was communicative with me and my wife from beginning to end. When I have another event, I can't wait to hire them again. I provided some guidance on what music we'd like to hear and they absolutely nailed it. If there was a 6 stars option, they'd have earned it!

December 17, 2024Hella Fitzgerald, led by the amazing Lilan Kane, did a fabulous job at my son’s wedding. From the clear and timely communication with Lilan herself (no third party manager) over the months leading up to the big day about our budget and hopes and dreams, to the actual wedding day, it could not have been more perfect! The highlights were the epic brass band that led the 200+ guests from the outdoor wedding ceremony to the reception, the mother-son dance (perhaps not the dancing skills but definitely the beautiful rendition of “What the World Needs Now (Is Love)” by Lilan and her band), and the song set with the glorious horns that kept the dance floor hopping (with everyone from the youngest guest to grandma) all night long! It went by too fast, but the memories will last forever! We could not have been more pleased! I could not recommend Hella Fitzgerald more!

The band manager Lilan brought a personal touch to put together a spectacular trio that featured some of the most talented and professional musicians in the Bay Area. Our family and friends are still talking about the band a year later!

Many of our friends and family are musicians themselves and know what top-notch sounds like. This band is cookin'! Special thanks to Lilan for running a tight ship and accommodating a couple song requests. Hearing those songs, which she arranged for the band, really warmed our hearts—thank you!
Look, hiring live music, especially a large band like this, is not inexpensive. There are cheaper options out there. But if you want something extra, something people will remember, this is it. It was so worth it.

They provide a flowing soundtrack to your event from start to finish, transitioning seamlessly from an intimate ceremony and cocktail hour into a high-energy dance band that will keep the party grooving all night long. The band size can range anywhere from a duo up to a full band with horns depending on the type of event you are planning. Lilan also offers a Gatsby themed repertoire complete with 1920's classics and pop songs turned vintage! She and her band can dress the part. Most requests can be accommodated with enough notice.
All sound systems and lighting can be provided, as well as a wireless or lapel microphone for officiants and toasts. A custom iPod playlist is created, or if you have your own playlist, we can play it through our system during the breaks.

Meet the Band Manager
Lilan Kane is an award-winning jazz and soul vocalist who has performed at Great American Music Hall, Yoshi's, Fillmore Jazz Festival, Sweetwater Music Hall, and recently opened for Hall & Oates, Morgan James, and Sharon Jones. Studying both Music Business and Vocal Studies at the prestigious Berklee College of Music, Lilan brings professionalism, quality, and expertise to the table, as well as a diverse understanding of both the musical and event side of things. She will work with you to curate the perfect sound and aesthetic to make your event memorable, classy, and fun.
