From the restaurant and club/bar scene, to big fundraiser black tie gala events, big band society type jazz to an intimate acoustic duo, or jazz quartet, groovy/chill house party and everything in between. She can be the life of the party, or wallpaper ambience for a more laid back event or cocktail hour. She can sing a classical song at a church event, for a wedding ceremony, and also raise the roof with top 40 music at the reception. An extremely versatile whole package deal. She has a smooth soulful voice, and a warm engaging stage presence, and works to get people engaged and singing along. Has own sound system if needed, and can also emcee and DJ to keep the party (or whatever vibe) going while taking a break. Helena Redman Bio

A mostly self taught singer, Helena Redman is a highly sought after artist in the Raleigh/Durham/Triangle music scene, as she consistently thrills and delights audiences, with her trademark warm soulful voice and generous, engaging passionate stage presence, and ability to span many genres, styles and time periods musically. One minute she'll effortlessly belt out a sultry soul ballad, or gently seduce with a Bossa Nova in Portuguese (sings in 5+ languages), only to turn up the energy, and fill the dance floor with some Classic rock, Disco, Motown, Blues, R&B, today's top 40 hits, or slow things down with a beautiful love song, or get your toes tapping with a swing tune from the American songbook.

Born and raised in Sweden, Helena was singing before she could even speak. Her father being a Swedish diplomat, she travelled the world, and Helena’s exposure to so many different cultures, helped shape her amazing musical diversity.

Growing up in Sweden, Helena sang in the school and church choir, in musicals, and an original funk band based in Stockholm. She immigrated to the US in her 20's, and worked as a full time professional Singer and Event coordinator in south FL for many years.

Currently she lives and performs around the Raleigh/triangle and NC area, and on the east coast with The NY society band “The Alex Donner Orchestra”. Some of Helena's show venues & clients include, Koka Booth Amphitheater Cary, Lazy Daze Festical (Cary), Apex Pride festival, NC Museum of Natural Sciences, Wakefield Country Club, Wild Wing Cafe Brier Creek, Watts & Ward speakeasy and Carolina Exotic Car club in Raleigh, Admirals Club in Chapel Hill, Blue Note Grill and Weldon Mills Distillery in Durham to mention a few.

Helena currently has several projects going on. A jazz quartet/quintet (Red Velvet Revival) performing classic, and postmodern Jazz for Gatsby themes events, at parties, restaurants, speakeasies, wedding cocktail hours, and wine bars. A duo/trio with acoustic versions of some of your favorite songs. She’s also the lead singer in the popular cover band, performing at all the top live music spots around the triangle. The Helena Redman cover band is in regular rotation at Wild Wing Cafe, Blue Note Grill (Durham), Triangle beer Co, Saints & Scholars pub, Macs Tavern. and Watts & Ward, to mention just a few.

Helena is a client focused communicator, and audience pleaser, alwasy going above and beyond for her clients. She will work with you to plan and bring the perfect ambience and soundscape to your event.

I have my own sound and some lights. For bigger festival type events I would require lighting and a sound guy/company.
