Morgan county’s local author, Tore Haavik has a great passion to share about how to lead a life of listening to Gods voice and following His guidance. Tore served as a full-time missionary for several years and worked in ten different countries, primarily in southeast Asia. During these years he lead several mission projects with the sole focus of ministering the Gospel of Christ to unreached people groups.
His book ‘To the Ends of the Earth’ share a powerful and inspiring story of a particular journey to an unreached and closed area in northwestern China, not visited by foreigners for over 60 years. Tore is a seasoned motivational speaker, consultant/advisor, business coach and minister.

One morning, twenty years ago, while working as a missionary on a YWAM mission base in Jamaica, I picked up my guitar to find a secluded place outside to worship God. During a moment of passionate worship God brought my future bride before my eyes as Stephanie walked up with her guitar and asked to join me. We were both still teenagers and little did we know in that moment that God would have us lead worship together as husband and wife for the next 20 years. Our story had ‘great love story’ written all over it from the very beginning. A boy from Norway meets a girl from Texas while on missions in Jamaica, and then spends the better part of the next three years on different continents. Our love story has taken us across the world for the glory of God and you will hear part of our story in this book.
Today, by the amazing guidance of Holy Spirit we find ourselves leading a worship team for Epic Church in Athens, Alabama. We have three beautiful children, each pursuing God's purpose for their lives. We are passionate about experiencing life and living it to the fullest and we long to see people around us experience freedom and walk in God's purpose for their lives.
