Overview

after being persecuted by isis back home, I left in 2014, in 2016; I was the only Libyan refugee to be admitted to the united states after a grueling vetting process that took years. being a refugee, a gay man from the middle east. my story inspired so many people back home to have hope. and also will change how people in the US see refugees and understand what they go through.
