What to expect
Sherri Lynn Stricker is an established musician who is known for excellence in harp, voice, and piano performance and instruction. She is available to perform at a variety of functions including weddings, bridal showers, dinners, private parties, celebrations, holiday events, and worship events. Repertoire variety ensures that your special event will meet your musical preferences and tastes. From classical to contemporary, you'll be treated to elegant and
beautiful music. Sherri's extensive education and experience places her among
the best performers and teachers in Texas.
About
Sherri began formal piano study at the age of 10 and formal vocal study at the age of 15. She graduated from Pacific Lutheran University in 1985 with a BA in Education and minors in Special Education and Music. With more than 30 years of piano and vocal teaching experience, she has continued to refine her musical skills. In 2014 Sherri completed Piano Pedagogy Certification thru The Royal Conservatory of Music Development Program (RCMDP). In 2011, Sherri began her study of harp. A five-time gold medal winner in the Harp program of RCMDP, she is also working toward harp pedagogy. She is a founding teacher and member of RCMDP, a partnership of Carnegie Hall and The Canadian Royal Conservatory. Sherri is an active member of the American Harp Society, Music Teachers National Association, National Federation of Music Clubs of America, Texas Music Teachers Association, San Antonio Music Teachers Association and Crown Ridge Music Club. She is former President of Fairfax-Loudoun Music Fellowship of Virginia and former participating teacher of the annual FLMF Piano Music Ensemble Festival, consisting of students performing duets and trios simultaneously on six grand pianos. Sherri has directed children’s, youth and adult choirs. She has also participated in variety of church worship in the United States and Europe, including Tapestry, a women’s 3-part vocal ensemble. Sherri has enjoyed performing at various events including holiday events, teas, and weddings, of all sizes.
Sherri is currently a freelance harpist, vocalist and pianist, enjoying a busy schedule as a soloist, ensemble performer and is a band member of Hearts Indwelled, while maintaining an active teaching studio.
