Harpist - Maria Duhova Trevor

Hello, I am delighted that you are considering live harp music for your event.
This is what you can expect besides the heavenly music: I will communicate with you via phone or email prior to your event. I will be on site about 45 minutes prior to your event ready to set up the harp. I will bring my own amplification if needed. I believe that a harpist should not only play beautifully, but also look the part. So I wear long colorful concert dresses for corporate events and black knee length dress for wedding ceremonies.
This is what you can expect for my wedding ceremony services:
I generally play prelude music ( 30 minutes ) as your guests are arriving. In my experience the guests always appreciate being treated to a mini concert while they are waiting as everybody arrives early for the wedding. It also creates a beautiful ambiance and gets everybody in the romantic mood and ready for the ceremony! I follow with the processionals for grandparents and moms, bridesmaids and you of course. After that I provide any music needed during the ceremony such as unity candle, communion, special music etc. At the end of the ceremony I play a recessional as you and your wedding party are leaving and postlude music as your guests leave. I also have a meeting with each bride to discuss the music and play live music samples either in person or via skype, so that you can make your selections and that way each wedding is different and unique.

Maria Duhova Trevor moved to the USA in 2006 from Slovakia, and she quickly established herself as one of the most sought after harpists in Missouri.
She is the principal harpist of both the Missouri and the Springfield Symphony Orchestras as well as adjunct instructor of harp at the University of Missouri and Truman State University.

As a wedding ceremony musician she has provided music for more than two hundred couples. In addition she performs for many different types of special events and service groups each year, including bringing music to the homeless and the mentally and physically challenged. Her philosophy of the healing power of music has brought her a large following, and in 2011 Maria initiated the monthly Harp and Healing services at the Broadway Christian Church that still continue today. Some of the music from those Harp and Healing services eventually became a best-selling album “Healing Harp” In 2016 Maria embarks on her second recording and new projects with group harp ensembles as well as taking the harp into unexpected locations.

From 1996 to 1999 Maria was Principal Harpist of the Bohuslav Martinu Philharmonic in the Czech Republic, with whom she toured throughout Europe. In 1999 Ms. Trevor was a featured recitalist at the Seventh World Harp Congress. Later that year, she was appointed to the harp position at the Slovak National Opera, where she played in over fifty different opera and fifteen different ballet productions.

Maria has been principal harpist of the Missouri Symphony Orchestra since 2001 and has been a featured soloist on numerous occasions as well as a regular chamber music collaborator with musicians from around the country. As an orchestral harpist she has collaborated with many great artists including Art Garfunkel, Johnny Mathis, Eileen Ivers, Jennifer Holliday and the Texas Tenors.

This really depends on the event, but I generally just need an area of 4' by 6' and an electric outlet ( if amplification is needed/desired. Good lighting is appreciated. I will bring my stand light, if the room is dim or specially lit for the occasion.
