Overview
Need a clown for a birthday or to amuse crowds at the fairgrounds or trade fair?
A maitre de to seat the delegates at your convention or cocktail party?
Walk-about is Hamlet the Clown’s forté.
For birthdays, I am at your house for one hour. I do a 30 min show, then for the rest of the hour, I tie balloon sculptures for all the children. The show includes mimicry, mime juggling, (balls/ pins/ hat ) a small bit of clown magic, follow the leader, and lots of audience participation. It is good for all ages. If it is fifteen children or less and at your place of residence I charge $120 for the hour.
Santa also is available for Xmas parties at a reasonable rate.

Hamlet was very professional. He arrived on time to the birthday party and was prepared to give a great performance. The kids were engaged from beginning to the end and adults also enjoyed the show. Very kind and gentle with the kids. I would definitely recommend Hamlet. His price is also very reasonable.

Hamlet The Clown never disappoints - his improvisational skills mixed with his humour is the perfect cocktail for almost any event. A group of 10yr old kids is not the easiest crowd, either! Kirk is a pro.

Provided entertainment at a kids birthday I attended and I really enjoyed it. Had to work a bit harder than might be typical as some of the kids were hyped up on sugar and their parents weren’t really stepping in (sorry!), but the act was fun, the children did enjoy it, and the parents were entertained too. Also put plenty of effort into making balloon animals for a long line of children. Would definitely recommend. Thanks!

performer and this act is the perfect ingredient to warm up a crowd, add colour to a large
function, or give your special event a festival atmosphere. Hamlet is the ideal strolling
character for all occasions, with a capacity to entertain 500 people per hour. His roving
antics include: juggling, mimicry, crowd control, music and short shows any of which can
happen at the drop of a scarf, and boy can this clown dance!
SHOW - HAMLET LETS LOOSE
This show is a serious tragedy about a clown. The story centers around what happens when you let a hyper-tense clown like Hamlet loose. Full of frivolous hijinks this half hour show includes mime, mimicry, pin and ball juggling, hat manipulation, gymnastics, clown magic, follow-the-leader, and plenty of audience participation. HAMLET LETS LOOSE is a thirty minute show, perfect for family audiences and is suitable for outdoor performance

I’ve had extensive training in acting, clowning, and dance, and as Hamlet the Clown I’ve enjoyed a twenty year career as a professional entertainer. Of the myriad of festivals and special events I’ve participated in, highlights for me include: Expo ’86, the Calgary Olympic Festival, the Edmonton Street Performers’ Festival, the Calgary and Edmonton First Night Festivals, and the Calgary Winter Festival. From 1984 - 86 I performed in Alberta schools and I have taught workshops in clowning, juggling, and acting, both for the school system and the community. For ten years I taught curriculum using drama to students in the Calgary school system through program sponsored by Calgary Arts Partners in Education until it dissolved in 2008. Presently I teach playwriting to Alberta junior high school students and poetry to grades four to six under the Artist in Schools Residency Program funded by the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, as well as teaching for the Epcor Centre for Performing Arts.
