What to Expect
I treat each event as though it has a life of its own. A well-rehearsed and thoughtfully programmed performance is always guaranteed at a performance of mine. Whether playing a fingerstyle arrangement of an Adele tune or an excerpt from a Bach prelude, I am always concerned about how my sound is affecting the room. After all, one's career in entertainment wouldn't last very long if they weren't willing to respond to the client with a sense of urgency and adapt to the audience's needs.
Originally from Wichita, Kansas, guitarist/educator Sean Mawhirter fell under the tutelage of local mentors Randy Zellers, Loretta Ewing and David Brown as well as studying under international luminaries such as Jerry Hahn, Fareed Haque and David Fiuczynski. During his 20+ years in the Kansas City metro, he has performed in a variety of musical settings and styles. He is a member of the Kansas City Guitar Society, Folk Alliance International and Fractured Atlas.
Additional Booking Notes
As I am also a wedding DJ, I have an extensive amount of equipment at my disposal. Please click on this link for that list:
In terms of guitar setup, I primarily play through a Bose L1 Model II system with a single Oktava MXL-603 microphone. My Cordoba 'La Clarita' spruce-top guitar is my pride and joy. I will put up this system against anybody's as it delivers in tone and projection doesn't make anyone near the speakers cringe from to much output. Assertive but delicate.
